So NC4X4, I took this truck in on a trade a couple of weeks ago and I would like a little input regarding the value. The prices for Nissan's are all over the map on craigslist and I myself haven't ever owned one of these gems. I would appreciate all serious input. Thanks!

1991 Nissan Pickup
157XXX miles
2.4 w/ 5 Speed
4x4 works well
30-40% Michelins
Fairly clean body and interior
Has rust over rear wheel wells

If it were yours, what would you value it at?

If its solid (only rust that small bit on the body) and everything works, around here you could easily get $2k for it. Probably more if you could score some nice newish tires.

I was planning on listing it for $3500 and seeing where it goes

I sold a '91 regular cab 4 cylinder, 5 speed with 225,000 miles, peeling clear coat, some rust over rear tires and crunched up door and rockers for $1000 not to long ago. It ran but needed timing chain work, tires, windsheild was cracked and muffler was gone.

If it was mine I wouldn't take less than $3500 for it, but Nissans don't get the money love that Toyota's do.

Id prob give you $2800 now. If title is good.

I'm right up 601 in Dobson

warning the five speed can have tranny issues like a nc bathroom. From my days with Nissans I wanna say gl5 instead of gl4 and fill from shifter

GL-4 only. V6 trucks with the FS5R30A transmission had the fill hole issue where it was drilled too low so a re-fill would short the transmission unless you overfilled from the shifter tower. I do not believe the same issue was present on the FS5W71C transmission case.

GL-5 fluid has corrosive detergents that will kill the soft metals in those transmissions and should never be used unless you want to see premature synchro failure.

$2500. The KA24E engine is nearly indestructible (but gutless), a 91 (D21) has the weaker C200 rear axle. The later 93+ (D21U) 4-cylinders had the better H233B rear axle. It's an XE so it is a low-option truck, although from the pictures it is pretty clean and has the appearance package (chrome). I would expect that that front suspension rubber is done. There are big bushings that go at the rear ends of the lower control arms that are usually shot at this point as well as the balljoints and upper control arm bushings are probably done as well. The torsion bars at least look like they are not sagging much which is a plus. A little rust like this is not a surprise on a 91 but a lot would be as Nissan used Durasteel starting in 1988.

Overall a decent truck.

I had an 88 V6 for many years and I loved it. Got a little excited about this one till I saw rust. I'd be in up to $3k if it didn't have rust.
