I've had this truck since new off the dealer lot...95,000 miles. Has all kind of mods, NWOR headers I had Jet Hot ceramic coated, K&N cold air intake, Borla dual exhaust with SS tips, 4" Explorer Pro Comp Stage 2 lift, Downey upgraded torsion bars, custom tweed & leather interior, Q-Logic bandpass box with plexiglass front, high end Sony head unit, sunroof, Bushwhacker front flares, Lund Widesides rear flares, Westin SS oval step bars, Smittybilt triple/double chrome plated to tailgate showbar, 5 KC SS showbar lights, 5.71 Richmond R&P, Dana locker, 39.5" Boggers, Eagle alloy wheels, Power windows & locks, etc...

Now to why it's just been setting for past 11 years...threw a rod in engine and haven't had time to fix. Plans were to drop a Chevy 350 in it and call it a day....but that hasn't happened.

As it sets right now what do y'all think I could get for it. I'll see if I can find a pic when it was clean.

Found old work calendar from '05 when truck won show category...so took pic of pic...lol.

If you really want to just be done with it, I'd start off asking 2K, but it's really only going to sell to someone who wants to part it out, or is looking for exactly what you're selling...

2k is what you could probably get parting it out, because aftermarket stuff...

2k would be the max value of the truck running without the mods and in stock condition.

2k would be the approximate cost for a 3.0 long block to get it back on the road.

2k seems to be the magic number for your truck.

You'll get exponentially more if you take the time or spend the money for a replacement engine. That truck, running, would be a great first ride for a HS kid turning 16. As it sits, I wouldn't offer any more than $800. Regardless of miles, mods, etc, it's a 30 YO truck with a blown up engine (not a dig on you or it). If it's running and driving, it's a well cared for old truck. That has the appearance of added value right from the start.

This.
You're going to have to decide how much the difference in resale is worth to you.
It's going to take time, effort, and money to get it back up to it's real glory and a high price tag.
I'd ballpark maybe you'd get $5k with the motor replaced, cleaned up and everything looking nice. Depends highly on the truck market around you.
How much work are you willing to do? Is it worth the effort to get $2-3k more for it?

It needs a motor and a set of tires.
So $2k (?) for the motor and $1k (?) for the tires.
When it was parked it was an aged style, in 1998 that was a magazine truck....now chrome roll bars and KC lights are memes not wants.
The system stuff, if it is even still operable and hasnt heat deteriorated, is a decade old tech.

I mean maybe you find a sucker but I think its worth 500-800 as is. Throw a motor in it and a set of tires and a good cleaning and you could probably get $5k out of it.

The question essentially is are you willing to spend 3 to make 1?

If not I'd part it out.

Not meant as a knock it looks like a cool sweet truck

I've secretly been searching the interwebs for chrome triple roll bars and KC lights for Buttercup because it's what I want and because :flipoff2:

I know these are just asking prices, but this is a current example of what I see regularly (I just bought a 95 Toyota so I've been watching for a couple months)

From Asheville craigslist:

$3k

$3800 (I know it's not a Yota but still)

$12,000

It still seems to me like these things should be half that value, probly just inflation x me getting old... but old Yotas really do fetch a premium these days.

Yeah asking prices... you're spot on with values being half what they're asking.

To OP... its a neat truck but outdated, sat for a long time etc. 800-2k depending on how long you sit on it and if you can weed out the scammers and actually get a buyer. I know its right in my wheelhouse of want.

Old Yotas are kinda like 7.3 Excursions they hold value. Only downfall with mine is engine. 3VZE wasn't a good engine though...had factory recall for head gaskets.

I'll come get it for $300

Wash it

Drop an LS in it, tag it "OUTATIME" and rawk it as-is :huggy:

(yes I know wrong year but :flipoff2:and the critical horse you rode in on...shits cool)

It’s the no-rust, matching body panels thing that gives it value, they are getting fewer and fewer. Had an ‘87 back in high school with a 350 in it and Mickey 35s. I’m from down East so never saw rocks but I couldn’t get it stuck in mud or sand. If I didn’t just pick up my 95 I’d be hounding you for this one

1st gen 4Runners that are rust free and stock are getting ridiculous resale now.
People are now picking them up for complete restoration and resale Gas Monkey style.

I’d second the barter idea. Hell…. I’ve got a $1000 plus Remington 700 with a fancy stock I’d swap you even for it. I need to plug up both sides of my barn with childhood dream trucks.

fix and keep or fix and sell. personally I would go back with stock motor

whatever you do don't continue to let it sit.

if fixing it is not an option, let it go around $1k
