UPDATE: Pulled fuel filter off and beat it on the hand and a bunch of dark brown gunk came out, ordered a new toyota fuel filter. Hope this fixes it.

If the fuel filter was nasty, It would probably be a good idea to go ahead and change the pump strainer too.

UPDATE: Truck still runs like shit. Sputters, loss of power, won't crank sometimes now. What's nect? We believe something in the motor is gettin so hot it's causin truck not to want to start. Will turn over and everything just won't stsrt.

Stop throwing parts at it and diagnose the issue. Use loan a tool to get a fuel pressure gauge and start there.

Have you been downshifting it w the 49s on it? like Sgt. Green asked.......when was the last time the fuel pump was replaced or the distributor cap and rotor? plugs and wires? The fuel injectors may be clogged or need replacing/cleaning..........FYI going from 44s to 49s will cause it to loose power/acceleration even if it's running fine.

No power issues with the 49s till a few days ago. It happened suddenly. We tried running carb cleaner through it to get it to crank and that wouldn't even start the truck. Fuel pump has never been replaced and my mechanic said the plugs and wires were fine

It wont hit on carb cleaner. Starter fluid will make it hit if it is a fuel issue, but this is NOT good for the engine. Either drop the tank or pull the bed and put and take a look at the fuel pump/strainer.

You have to have fuel, air and spark for a motor to run. Check your spark and fuel they are the easier of the 3(air will be in timing causing the valves to open). fuel pressure gauge and spark checker are in the loan a tool in most parts stores.

UPDATE: Truck runs great now. Have all my power back and feels like possibly more than before. Only issue now is that it won't start sometimes, it'll turn over great but just won't start. If we get it to start it'll idle fine for a while then go up and down then back to normal. Any ideas guys?

What did it take to make it run?
