2014 corvette,I am in love...............

Badass! Now, if the motor was midship mounted...

It certainly looks more "European". It's kinda like the Camaro, from some angles it looks really bad ass, from other angles it just looks bad. Over all I like it.

The back of the doors and the rear quarters look just like a Camaro. I like it! Just needs more power!

Damn.... Looks nice! Anyone want to buy a tow pig, jeep and trailer combo so I get one of these?

I'm on the fence, can't stand the red interior (never been a big fan) or the tail lights. The back half just looks odd to me, but I can't pin down a specific reason why. I think they should offer a hood without that grill in the middle or at least match the exterior paint & get rid of the bat-wing spoiler on the back. Other than those few things, I like it...its not like I'll ever be able to afford one anyways right? I personally like the C5 & C6 generation more than this one, but I'm sure this one will have more power & probably get better mileage with the way trends are going.

I'd like to see a 'Vette that closely mimics the old C2s or C3s (prefer the C3), upgraded with today's suspension/brake designs & fuel economy. That would be my dream ride...that or a '63 split window corvette coupe with a 572 shoved under the hood! If I ever get my hands on my dad's '70 Stingray, I'd like to do a full-on frame-off resto-mod (heavy on the resto, light on the mod) to bring it back to its glory...been a dream of mine since I was 14.

From everything I've seen, the vette is light years ahead of the viper in design & technology. The viper is cool, but I bet the vette is more refined & a better driver.

When the Viper came out, it was ahead of the Vette of the era IMO. The Viper was built to go fast, period, and it did that very well, both in a straight line and on a road course. But it's downfall was that Dodge gave very little though to any styling other than it's body lines, and creature comforts were non-existant. The Vette played catch up and made considerable advances while the Viper changed a little bit of this, and a little bit of that, move this body line, add a little hp, but was basically the same car in the late 2000's that it was in 93 when it came out. Now, the 2013 Viper is a whole new animal, and I would take your bet. I'm sure there will be a battle royale between the two soon enough.

Huge disappointment here. Guess I am too old school. I like how Ford and Dodge came back with some vintage lines on the Mustang and Challenger. Even Chevy with the Camaro (to a small extent). Where are the split windows, split rear bumper, round tail lights?

Call it a Corvette, fine. But please don't call it a stingray.

Guess I'm too old to have ever cared for the European lines! I haven't been happy with the last few Vett body changes. THIS, looks just like what most manufacturers, have done = Take some of this & that, smash it all together, add some new lights, & mombo/jumbo, new sucky car!

I guess the engine tech I've read about for the vette is my main point. The throttle blip as you shift. The VVT & dead cylinder fuel savings are pretty cool. The viper is still awesome & you'll see so few on the road.

One more question I have is how messed up is the fact that GM has their Corvette plant only building vettes. Last year they only sold 14,000! There's no way that's sustainable. Even at $60k a pop.

Well, of those 'Vettes sold you need to account for the ZR1s. They're about $120,000. I'm sure a lot of the other 'Vettes sold were probably more than 60k. Those option packages add up quick!

Coincidentaly, saw a Viper in Havelock yesterday on my way to work. It was kinda cool.

CHARLOTTE,NC--Hendrick Motorsports owner, Rick Hendrick, purchased the first production 2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette for $1.05 million at the Barrett Jackson auction, according to SPEED.
Hendrick's, Charlotte resident, purchased the 2014 C7 Corvette along with a 1969 L-88 for $1 million.
The Nascar team owner was accompanied by Jeff Gordon who high fived him after the winning bid.
Among his prior “firsts” purchased at various Barrett-Jackson auctions, Hendrick bought the first production 2010 Camaro SS for $350,000; the first 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition for $270,000; the first 2011 Camaro SS convertible for $205,000; and the first 2012 ZL1 Camaro for $250,000. (according to SPEED)

“Because I’m a Chevy dealer, and because new and used we sell more than anybody else in the country, it would be a nice piece for the museum (the Hendrick Heritage Collection), it would a nice piece to take around to the stores, and to have the first one of this generation would be great.”(Hendrick's told SPEED)
