2016 Nissan Titan XD with Cummins

It just really sucks seing this stuff because the American market has really turned these into pieces of shit. Does a half ton truck really need a turbo V8 diesel engine? Not for nothing but we are the only country where everyone needs a truck, it needs to be super fast, and capable of hauling stuff at 80mph. Stuff...you know the shit that we all have to buy. The fact is that most of these drive around with nothing more than kid seats in the back.

Every other country you get a truck that has a small displacement four cylinder in this class that gets 30mpg on the hightway and more than likely has solid axles. We all want the strongest stuff but we keep buying pickups that have plastic balljoints and unit bearings that flop out every 30k miles. I'm sorry...this truck is straight up :poop:

Shop around on Land Rover and Toyotas websites overseas. Check out Nissan too, they make a Patrol truck still. It has a coil sprung solid front axle, pulls over 7,000 lbs., manual trans option, full floating rear axle, and diff locks. Yep...but does it have 11 cup holders and a DVD player???

Actually, if you look around overseas, nobody owns trucks, because they can't afford them.

...fair enough

That will be the same here when either fuel cost doubles again or our dollar value drops, of course both of those go hand in hand because one is based on the other. Nifty...yes. Necessity...no.

shit, you don't have to wait for that.
at 40k+ for a truck, I don't see how anybody can afford one now.

I was thinking that when the new Tahoes and Suburbans showed up last Fall. I was at the dealer getting my truck serviced and moseyed over to look at them in the showroom. $ 65-70k for a Tahoe?!??! Weeks later I was seeing them all over the roads already. I guess people like 7 year car notes? The price on these new ones has made the used truck market ridiculous as well, you cannot get a decent HD truck less than 10 years old for less than $20k anymore if you want a diesel in it.
