33's With No Lift?

damn thats a first never seen someone use a skil saw to cut fenders im surprised they turned out that good. hope you dont plan on going offroad with the 33s

I'm going to round the front of the front fender off some more so it'll fit flush with the front bumper. We just marked it off with a sharpie marker and a steady hand and it was all go from there. Longest part about the process was putting the Jeep on jackstands and pulling the tires. I don't plan on wheeling it anytime soon but we all know how that goes  I don't think it'll be as bad as everyone says because the tires measure out to 32.5" tall. We'll see though, thanks.

if it rubs, put the 2" bb under it, and then wheel it till it breaks. remember, breakage is an excuse for upgrades.

don't kid yourself into thinking your 31x10.5s actually measure 31"

I have 33s on my 95 XJ with 2" spacers/blocks and generous trimming. Havent flexed it out yet, but I will this w/e :driver:
Oh, but I'm not using the stock wheels, I have about 4" BS

Well I've got 33x12.5x15" on mine with stock 15x7 wheels, Well it's sitting on 3" worth of BB lift. No matter what you will rub, List of things guarenteed to rub:

Front,
1. LCA (My tires are ate up)
2. Right behind the front of the fender where the battery sits, right where the bend is. This is on both sides. (Not so bad, just enough to be annoying).
3. Coil spring tower. (Just enough to slow you down).
4. Right behind the back of the fender where they join the body with rivets. (Just take a big hammer to it or you will have sliced tires).

Rear,
1. Inside of tire will rub wheel well.

Since you cut the fenders you should not have that much of a problem with'em.

this is my xj with a 4 inch lift in front and 5 in the back with the fenders cut (a bunch) and it still rubs the 33s sum

no way the 33s will work 12.50s will rub with no lift and it will make you mad when you hear the rubbing everytime you turn check out www.rustysoffroad.com they have a 3in suspension kit for $250 and with the lift and a little trimming you will probably be ok, in my opinion i would run the rustys lift and 32s

Got the tires mounted last night at my Brother's house. It hasn't rubbed one bit up front but there was minor rubbing in the back with like 3 33" heavy ass tires in the back of the Jeep. I'll have pics up sometime today.

33"s arn't heavy:flipoff2: Try hauling some tractor tires or 44"s.

That looks awfully tight. You can add 2" for dirt cheap, here's what I did...
$30 rear lift blocks and U-bolt @ AutoZone (I saw Advance had the same thing for $23, ecpect they were cast steel instead of extruded aluminum)
$8 hardened washers for the U-bolts from Tractor Supply
$30 for 2" coils spring spacers
$4 for hockey pucks for bumpstop extensions in the front coils
I fabbed some rear bumpstop extensions out of some scrap I had. You could use 2" box tube + a strip of 2.5" plate.
It passed the ECORS test this weekend :driver:
I'll try and gather some pics

looks, good, but tight. i'd try to get a 2" bb lift. then find some more claws and that thing will be sweet. i'll help you put it on.

got any pics of it flexed?

Renegade T, thanks for the info. I'm gonna try to piece together a 2" lift. I don't have any pics of it flexed but I'll try to get some sometime. I'll post more/better pics up in a bit. Thanks!

i had an 89 xj at one point. it had 4.5 lift, 32 x 11.50's on 8" wide wheels w/ 3.75 bs. i trimmed a lot and didn't rub (sway bar disconnected).

you'll probably rub w/o trimming, but you could make longer bumpstops.

tapout, pm sent, i got a 2" lift i would like to see gone out of the garage. if the price is not right make me a offer.

man I think that thing looks awesome. how much more can you trim the fenders? if you can get away with more trimming and use longer bumpstops that would be the :poop:. then all you would need is some armor/skids and a front locker then you could beat it for all its worth.

black armor + white cherokee = baddarse :huggy:
