4 wheelers ATV

I agree we need to welcome and educate the ATVers....hey what about and ECORS ATV class?!?!!??!!??

ATV Section

Well I guess it's about 60% against, 30% for and 10% "pissed off"..........next question........
Where in Uwharrie do you think we should build the Mosque::wheel:.....just kidding.

Even more important than having the rules is getting those rules enforced.
X2
If you don't want a ATV section don't go in it.
I do agree they can be a PITA,but that is some not all. Some buggys, some jeeps, some toys, some sammi's,there are PITA's in all groups.
just my opinion
thanks

I have regular customers that are on ATV's and bikes and are great guys. I also have people that drive 4X4's of any brand and won't make eye contact when I wave. I don't beleive the mode of travel is the problem. I don't care what they drive, But I do beleive that there ought to be some common ground somewhere else besides on the trails!

sure.

Now all you need is more daylight to fit them in somehow, lol.

I wheel a 87 wrangler and i also wheel a honda foreman and polaris 700. as far as who is the worst i think its both parties that have people who ruin it for everyone else. We used to have great places to go wheeling in truck and jeeps. Then every one started tearing up the place and now i have to ride 3 hours away to take my jeep out. And as far as the fourwheelers its the same. So not all problems are caused by the fourwheelers. Either way you look at it its 6 in one hand and half a dozen in the other.

If you do atv ECORS I can name about 8 guys inncluding myself who will most definitely be in for it. That would be awesome!

I think it sorta sounds prickish to talk junk about the atv/bike crowd in such a negative way, as far as sharing the trails go.

When we see a beer can on the ground..it's never us
when someone goes off trail..its never us.

News alert..jeeps yotas landrovers chevys dodges fords hondas kawasakis yamahas suzukis polaris...insert brand name here________. ALL allow idiots to operate them.

All of the above named ''rides'' allow responsible folks to operate them too.

PUBLIC land is PUBLIC.

I like to ride atvs at ure too. I hate to think that the 4x4 crowd automatically thinks I am an idiot because I am on a honda. Jeeesh...what a load of crap. We are not better than them..they are not better than us.

I'm ok with an atv/bike section on nc4x4 if for no other reason than to communicate and collaborate trail efforts.

that said..i doubt an atv/bike section would get used much...but I could be wrong.

I agree with Dylan, I don't mind. Like I said we need a "common ground".

I don't ride ATVs or bikes, but totally agree with the above 2 posts...

also this one...:(
Of course that could turn into constant flaming forum and have to be censored, moved or locked.

Agreed with dylan. no offense to any clubs around here, but Id rather see one ATV forum cluttering up my front page than a dozen club forums listed down the front page.

I think with time an atv/dirt bike forum might see a decent amoutn of traffic on this site. i know I would use it ever once in a while.

I don't have the time or $ to drop into an ECORS racer, but I'd be IN for a GNCC style course for the fun of it. Myself and my quad might not be able to keep up with an experienced racer, but it would still be fun as hell!

GNCC??

I know three things about this.

1. I WOULD race if ECORS somehow had an ATV class.

2. My ass would get waxed by any racer with any sort of experience.

3. Ecors would likely have to make it a different day than race day due to time constraints, so it doesn't seem feasible at all.

A utility 4x4 class would be tits, i think. somewhat weed out the serious racers and let average dudes just ride against each other.

Me too!

Yep. Me too.

True, but it's still fun to imagine it.

Average dudes (like me) would race on a sport quad also. The idea of a utility quad beating you around on a track kinda worries me. The speeds and terrain would be pretty tough.
Alas, this is all just a dream and I think we kinda took the original thread a little off course.

You can hide that whole section, if you don't want to see it. Click the little pair of arrows in the circle on the far right in the blue bar and it compresses it.

I work on the weekends for an atv and motorcycle racing series,Mid-East Harescramble series, and have for many years.I also have worked for the GNCC series.I also wheel any chance I get.As a member of both sports,I have to say that we are all in the same boat together. We all as off-roaders face the same problems, like land closers and others in these sports that make as all look bad.So don't lump everyone in the same boat when you see some one doing something stupid.

I see nothing wrong with an ATV section either. We have a tow rig / trailer section because it relates to our sport. ATVs also relate to our sport as many of us have them. There's been discussion in gen chat about ATVs on a regular basis. Anything from tech/repair to trail etiquette.

This has been good!!

We are all talking and sharing ideas. I would love to ride point for guys with my Polaris, or bring up the rear, or ride for help if needed. As many have pointed out and the man said in a great movie "an ATV/Jeep is a tool like any other, it's as good or bad as the man using it" (ATV/Jeep was replaced with gun) but I think we all are pretty much on the same page, knuckleheads everywhere, but their our knuckleheads.
Hope to see you guys soon once my bumpers and winch are installed. Look for the Polaris with the NC4X4 sticker proudly displayed.:wheel:
Lawdawg

so you dont like atvs on our trails but you will jam the trails at callalantee ATV!!!! i have a rhino and 2 jeeps and i my opinion as long as we are all out to enjoy the same sport 4wheeling who cares like said before idiots can drive jeeps too!!
