Hey guys. Ive done some searching and alot of conflicting info, I think due to most have the returnless. I need to run fuel lines now and trying to purchase parts. But need a plan. But I lack the knowledge Im sure you all have in spades.

So with return. Does this sound right (tank to engine to tank circle)? Gas tank (w/ sender) to fuel pump/filter on rear frame rail. Then to engine at fuel in line. Out from engine at fuel return to fuel return valve on front frame rail. From valve back into tank.

Sound right? That simple?

Thanks!

What filter/regulator are you using?

If you are using the corvette one, you don't need a return from the fuel rails but will need a return from the filter/regulator.

Also known as Adel clamps and can be found at local parts stores, sometimes in assortment packs of different sizes.

And this ^^ you can simplify your lines a bit by using a corvette filter/regulator and capping your return port. This makes less lines running to the front of the vehicle, just run your return from the filter.

Im considering

fuel pump: airtex e2000
filter/regulator: wix 33100

but that is on the cheap! lol.

i would like to find a suitable pump and regulator/filter that will work with the an fittings i want to use.

You can cap the return if you run a corvette filter/regulator assembly. They have a return line on the filter and it regulates the pressure. Then just run a shorter return from the filter assembly

IMHO I think the e2000 is undersized for any WOT use. I have a e8248 as it puts out more volume and psi. I use the corvette filter/regulator.

Russell's makes a quick connect to the filter/regulator for a -6AN fitting if you want to get all fancy with your lines.

Why not use the wix 33737 instead of the S10 regulator? That way it has normal line sizes, etc and is made for the LS motors.

And if you decide to go with the wix filter/regulator, I likely have all the quick connect fittings you'll need leftover from my buggy build that I'll sell reasonably. :)

Sounds tried and true. So youre running airtex e8248 with a corvette filter/reg? What is the difference between that reg and the wix 33737? Any reason one other than the other?

Ill definitley take you up on the fittings!

Seeing alot of complaints that the airtex e8248 pump is loud?

I've had very good luck with the walbro 255. On my build I used the return style since I'd be using an in-tank pump configuration. I have a complete returnless rail if you need it. It may or may not require changing injectors though.

i plan to go external. ialready have the sender in place with the yj tank. very simply with i already have to external. thanks tho!

Well now that I know that i can just cap the return on the rail, i can simply just shop well reviewed pump and filter/reg. I welcome all suggestions people are using!

THANK YOU

I think the 33737 is more common and made for the application moreso than the S10 filter for a 2.2L motor.

I haven't really complained that the 8248 was noisy. I can hear it sometimes but it really depends on where it's mounted. If it's not an internal pump I think you have to consider that you'll have some pump noise. But, I'm also running a Holley blue to an accumulator as well and that Holley pump is anything but quiet.

Def not the s10 one. 10-4 man ill gander longer at the 8248.

The wix filter you quoted is for a 2.2L S10 where the 33737 is the Corvette one. I don't know the specs on the one you quoted other than the line size seems to be different than the Corvette one.

youre right it was the wrong one.

looks like "everyone" does walbro 255 and wix 33737.... soooo....

Gunna look into a internal walbro 255 while I am at, as I know I need to replace the fuel sender anyways (just remembered). But either way sounds like those are the way to go. Sounds like your thoughts too?

If i buy a new sending unit (link below), it can easily accommodate an internal pump. hmmm. decisions... bah! this build is going to put me in the pillow house for incurable indecisiveness lmao.

Would an external walbro 255 be this loud?

I always prefer an intank pump, but if going external use a E8248 like @rockcity mentioned. I missed your mention of the e2000, sorry. Also the e2000 comes with 5/16 fittings where the e8248 has 3/8".

For intank applications I will usually run a walbro GSS340. Easily had for under $80.

looks like that walbro is for mustangs. have you used it with the 5.3 and installed into a YJ sending unit?

^^^ that's what I have. I had a LS1 returess fuel rail and switched to a TBSS intake. I did go aftermarket fuel rails but kept the same fuel line routing described above. Simple and effective. :)

Wait are you gonna complain about a fuel pump noise with a healthy v8 under the hood? Your doing something wrong very wrong

Lol!! I don't know man... I've been on the boobtube and I have heard way too many loud pumps with v8s. And been cruising Pirate and their juggy's and rigs and the nightmares people seem to be having with some of these external pumps doesn't sound enticing.

If I was building a trail only rig I wouldn't care. But building ground up with new everything... for same cost as another choice, I choose no noise!
