Saturday I did a fluid and filter change out on the trans. I didn’t “flush” just drop the pan. Change the 2 filters and refill. Magnet had minimal material and overall the pan was pretty damn clean of any material. Truck had shifted fine previously it was just time for a service. Drove to work this morning and then back home without issue. Pulled into check the mail box. Put it in park and the engine light dings. WTF? Check the mail and get back in the truck. Hits pretty hard into reverse. Back out and hit drive. Instantly goes to “4” on the shift selector in the display and has no acceleration (limp mode) but it moves barely. Get it to the driveway. Some google says solenoid pack. Code reader says P0750 “a” solenoid. So, do I drop the pan again and just change the solenoid pack or while I’m in there change the Valve body too considering I need to move the VB to get to the shift solenoids?? Both of which apparently require a tool to enter a “learn” program that I don’t have.
FML this damn truck has worn my ass. $12k under the hood a few months ago. Just put new tires on it and some other investments.
I love the truck but need to make it right cause I’m in it far enough now that it’s gonna be my forever truck.
Also: when this happened I had just driven about 30 miles of highway and stop and go to get home and the trans temps were only at 140* so I know it’s not the trans burning up. I’m pretty sure I knocked something loose just enough with the fluid and filter that it got the solenoid acting up (according to numerous online threads it’s common.).
Help please.
