I have an electrical gremlin somewhere. When I turn off the engine and remove the key, the radio will shut off...then it will cycle on and off in about 30 second intervals. The trailer brake controller will also stay on. I had one instance where the blower motor and AC clutch still had power after key off.

Door switch seems fine and dome light reacts to it.
Accessory Delay Relay under dash pulls in/out randomly after key off.
Heard sound from Engine-side fuse block that sounded like fast flickering once when problem started. Sounded like a relay pulling in/out really fast.
All fuse blocks are dry.
Engine starts and everything seems ok after it starts.

Thanks for any insight.

On my 2000 psd, when the batteries are about dead & I turn the key on everything goes nuts. Wipers go on & off, 4 way flashers go on, dash gauges jump around.

Probably doesn't help but...

Maybe ignition switch. There's usually more than just 1 actual switch inside it. A BMW will do weird stuff like that when the ignition switch is worn out. Not too sure about Fords though, but it's worth a look.

I would think it was the ignition switch but the noise under the hood and the delayed on/off of the radio makes me think otherwise. I've jiggled the swith around in acc-on position and all accessories stay on. Also did the same thing in the off position.

how's your battery? My brothers dodge completely locked its self up. and i've heard of people;s vehicles do crazy :poop: when the alternator is crapping out. Good luck though

I believe it is the GEM (General electrics module) Its is a module that is right next to the in dash fuse panel and it controls a lot of different things via a bunch of solid state relays. Typically when it goes bad some funky sh* goes on. I also have a few other problems that have arose in the truck over the last year or so that could be caused by this module going bad.

Door locks won't work at times.
Had a burning electronic smell from in the cab once. Couldn't track it down and it didn't last long.
Hubs wouldn't engage one time.
Key on chime continued a few times after removing the key with no other accessories on.

***The problem is that its impossible for me to troubleshoot a module for the most part. Would the dealer be able to pinpoint that as the problem with their diagnostics?

Anybody got a dealer discount? PM me.

I put an alternator in it about a year ago. Old one was over charging...which could have caused some problems elsewhere I'm sure (~18V)

Batteries are about 1.5 years old. I replaced both at the same time. I haven't experienced any weak starts although I haven't load tested them either.

your first problem sounds like the RAP relay....but the other list below makes me question something larger scale....maybe a loose cab ground strap

Any idea where the RAP relay is located in a 2000 F250?

I've googled and can't find anything.

RAP=retained accessory power
not sure of location off the top of my head on that truck, typically its going to be under hood or under dash
