was handed down an 83 CJ about a month ago from my grandma.
itd had been sitting on his farm for about 5 years without being cranked.
needless to say it needed a lil TLC but after a carb rebuild...new fuel pump, fuel filter, fresh fluids changes, new used tires put on, it runs like a champ!
most likely keep it stock except for a winch. and it'll be painted sometime in the next few months. new shocks and brakes are going on it in a week or two.

thanks michael, yea i dont really feel like putting money into this CJ when i have the XJ too.
plus i think that CJ is pretty fun as it is now. the less money put into it the better!

and after sitting for so long i assumed it would have rusted holes everywhere. NO rust through the frame or body ANYWHERE. just some minor surface rust in a few corners. shoot this things probably in better shape than my XJ. hah

i need some color opinions for it though. since my grandpa was a huge military guy i was just thinking a simple flat army green and repainting the top black. nothing fancy

if it were me, I would paint it factory and get some new renegade stickers. I know thats not for everyone, but it's cool to see a nice resto cj around.

yea and i have thought about that, BUT...i am pretty sure the end result wouldnt turn out how i'd like if i did that, and i am picky so it would just annoy me. it has potential to be a nicely restored CJ...but it would require a lot of work. i may go that route later on. as for now i am just happy the thing runs so well.

X2, and I would leave it stock and ride around this summer with the top off.

^ i'm not painting it anymore after it cleaned up so well from waxing and buffing the old paint. so it will stay like she sits! the stickers are cracked and not in as good of shape but theyll do.

Check/clean the B-pillar on the body, there should be a drain plug underneath. Might save you some grief from rust down the road. Looks good!

Nice looking jeep man! You have my old front bumper!

well keeping the CJ stock didnt work out too well for me. its nothing tooo far from stock however.
this is how she sits now with a 2.5" rancho lift, 31" bfg muds, front locked

Nice to see an old CJ saved

Saw this thing in person this weekend. Great looking CJ. I think we all start out saying we are going to keep it stock or close to it but I don't think it ever lasts. Thanks again for those tires Ben. I saw them mounted up on the XJ in one of those pictures.

^ hey thanks ryan. hope the tires work out for ya!

yea Tony (renegadeT) hooked me up with a soft top so i threw that on today. i think i am about done as far as mods now (haha)

the only thing i would change is to get rid of those side steps. good looking 7 man!
