not a build like most of them on here, but when i got my truck i was 16 and thought a big lift and gimoungous tires would make it go anywhere. and we all know how that goes. a little backgound info, i bought it oct 07, sold it with a blown HG october of 09, then bought my 85 jan 2010, and teh following week bought this truck back. but now the rings are broke and it was burnin 5qts of oil a week. so its in the shop right now gettin rebuilt, and my Marlin Crawler HD clutch came in today for it. itll be my DD when it gets done. and then the 85 will begin, if i can geet it runnin. anyways thanks for lookin!

yea i kno, they look kinda goofy but ive never gotta around to movin em up. i wasnt plannin on puttin a BL on, but i got tired of rubbin when i was wheelin.

threw these 35 xterrains on after i figured out i hated the bfgs. one callentee trip broke about 14 lugs total off all four tires!!! im thinkin about takin teh body lift off aand cuttin the fenders out. i wouldnt mind to have to back low again

callentee

yea me neither. ill be a certified industrial and residential electrician in may, so i can finally get a decent steady job, and make more than minimum wage. hopin to get on with AEP as a lineman. anyways, saturday evenin, everything went down hill. it started idlein horrible for some reason, and the brakes got super sensitive and squeeky. it didnt miss or anything just idled bad. but today its not as bad, but the dang brakes keep lockin up. its my DD, and im a merchandiser fro a beverage co so this aint good. i drive about 100mi a day 3 days a week so i gotta get this fixed. the dizzy cap and rotar is corroded so hopefully thats the problem.

also, its leakin oil from the bellhousing. dunno if its the rear seal on the motor, or front seal on the tranny. teh motor just has about 6500mi on it after a rebuild. hope the mech didtn screw it up

Your problem sounds like a vac. issue to the brake booster. Probably a check valve or something gone bad.
heck i never thought of that! but it does make perfect since. funny thing is it hasnt done it since i posted about it

a little update. i still plan on SASin in May-June but im gettin tired of a slow truck and open diffs. so i got some gift cards for Christmas and went to RPM Offroad and ordered a Spartan locker for the front. trying to score some factory 4.88 thirds at the moment, after i get them ill get the rear Locrite bc Spartan dont make a V6 locker. i would have went ahead and ordered the rear V6, but i figured it would be better to wait and see if i get the gears first because my rear is a factory 4CYL third. also gonna have to hack my fenders a bit, 1 because one is rusting, 2 because i get some rub at full stuff since i removed my swaybar. after that hopefully gonna bob the bed and have on board air. no its not a buggy with a v8 and 42s, but i think it will be a capable little truck. stay tuned!

go my 4.88 thirds a couple weeks ago from a member on here. was goin to wait to install them til i get the rear locker, but im gonna go ahead and throw them in with the front spartan til can buy the locrite fro the rear so i can get a little better mileage, stay tuned

still aint put the gears or locker in. cant get much done when you work 6 days a week. was goin to callentee today, but my buddy bailed, so im jusst gonna hack the fenders. should have pics up later.

finally some progress pics. got my front fenders cut yesterday, and cut the rears today. was goin to put the rear 4.88 3rd in, but then couldnt get the bolts on the dshaft broke loose, so itll have to wait. aint got no pics, but i bought some door guard from advance auto and put around the lip of my fenders, works PERFECT for this. yes, i cut more than enough fro my 35s, but i wanted to cut all the rust out, and follow the same body line. not perfect, but im happy

me and a buddy hit mtn city today. wow. what a bad day. there is no longer a straight piece of sheet metal on the entire truck

exhaust studs on manifold and down pipe worked there way out. its done this the past two times i went to mtn city

caved in pass fender

broke pass signal light off

dented pass side of bed all the way down

dented drives side of bed pretty bad

a tree that was cut down somehow smashed the door frame of the drivers side. i was backing back down a trail after i realized it was a dead end. now my door will no latch shut. it pushed the inside of the cab in and back. dunno what i gonna do about this. its my DD so this aint good. i got it zip tied shut now and have to climb out pass side. theres about a 1.5 gap between the door and cab now. im a Little disappointed

also caved my tailgate in after sliding down a bank

cant tell much from this pic. ill post better ones later

Sorry to see that man. Mine has seen the same damage to the cab and my doors don't go back on or even close for that matter.

ah its all good. i think thsi wsa the last straw fro the IFS, the front end is supere sloppy, so its about time to SAS

my IFS is alot worse since another trip to MTN city. my front tires are like this \ /. im guessin it caused by ball joints and everything else thats wore out under the front. im in the process of gettin married, so i dont have a lot of cash to throw at this. my goal is TG 3in SAS, but i cant afford it. so i wana get it piece by piece. is this list all im needing?

Sky manufacturing hangar kit
shock hoops
hysteer
shocks
some kinda springs up front

am i missing something? seems to me i am

for the front driveshaft, will my existing dshaft work, or a stock 85 dshaft work? my rear springs are stock with a 3in AAL, front will be 3in springs as well.

vented brake roters and wheel spacers, will have to use half the 85 shaft slide it on to the ifs shaft

knew i was forgettin somethin. looks liek ill be cheaper to buy the dern TG kit

you will have to make a new or lengthen your old front drive shaft. I would use 2 sets of stock rear springs up front (they move the axle 3in forward) and build a square drive shaft

another change of plans-
signed back foro school so i can get my As. Degree, so the SAS is off til summer 2012. snapped a CV the other day, so im gonna replace it with a spare i have, put some cheaper ball joints on it form rockauto.com, weld the rear end, and wheel it. i dont wana miss out on the is fall season of wheelin. ill post up pics of the ball joint install

got my ball joints yesterday. the yota should be locked in the front with new ball joints by the end of the week, and hopefully welded in the rear within the next couplw weeks
