96 jeep cherokee will start and then shuts down as soon as you let off key.

I have tested spraying starting fluid into intake to see if it was a fuel pump issue and if it will stay running and it wont. I have pressed fuel rail release button and fuel sprays out.
I replaced ASD relay and did not help
I have checked fuses and can not find any blown fuses

I picked up a CPS last night but had wrong connection on end so I returned it and they did not have the correct one so i plan to try a different store today

I also checked and no codes showing

any other ideas besides CPS?

thanks

I'm far from an expert but maybe the ignition switch? Maybe it is only getting spark during the 'crank' cycle, but not during 'run' cycle of the key/switch position.

You could use a test light and see if the PCM is losing 12v when you let off the key. It sounds like it is and the only thing that controls that is the ignition switch.
In a pinch, you could jump across the switch and send constant 12v to that wire and verify.
