well i swore i wouldnt do it, but i just had to. the tacoma is getting a solid axle. front end was pretty beat in this thing, needed ball joints, wheel bearings, steering rack, tie rod ends, struts and rack bushings, just couldnt justify all that. ive been collecting stuff over the past 3 months or so and i finally gave it the chop on monday. progress may slow down a lot now, there is tons of customer work to be done. anyway, here is the run down:

35" KM2s on steel wheels (thanks Matt)
Waggy D44, spartan locker, chromos, 4.88s
top secret custom brakes
3 link w/ panhard, all links 42" eye to eye
lowers are 1.25 Johnny joints at axle (thanks 52x), bushings at frame
low steer inverted T style
FJ80 forward swing steering box
FJ80 coils
some shocks i had in my toolbox
FROF tcase ring mounted to my link crossmember
2"x5"x.250" link/tcase crossmember
rear is getting leaves added and shackles, rear diff gets 4.88s, solid spacer and a new lockright (current one is missing a few teeth)

mounting plates are 3/8" angle, frame is sleeved running 3 1/2" grade 8s per side. lowers are kicked in pretty far to clear tires when turning. im not down with kinked links

looks cool john!what axle you gonna use out back?

New shop lights there Jon boy?
Wish I had a little time to help you right now. What's you driving while you do the swap?

uhhh.....

ive been sleeping here, i didnt think through how to get around before i started cutting

your tires are here by the way...

rear axle is the stock 8.4, its a beef unit and with the lockright/solid spacer/4.88s it will be good to go. forgot to mention lowers are 2"x.250" DOM and the upper is 1.75"x.120" DOM. steering and track bar are 1.5"x.250" DOM

oh the exhaust is getting re done too, it interfered with my crossmember situation

slow progress, customer work takes priority and i cant seem to build those TJ 8.8s fast enough. got my lowers done and figured ride height. made tie rod. roof is 6' 2" at ride height. replaced washer tank with one from a 2wd that sits on top of the inner fender, old one interfered with the tire. did some grinding with the new 7" dewalt, still a lot to do. waiting on my oil pan from toyota so i can cycle this thing and make sure it all works.

Looking good man.....Damn Jack Bolick and his crappy paint job on that fender.

im going to move the frame end of the lowers up about 2" to the front of the crossmember, they are too low

oh yea....lowers are 2"x.250" DOM, upper is 1.75"x.120" DOM. panhard and steering are 1.5"x.250" DOM. we are stocking these sizes of DOM now as well as 1.5"x.120" and 1"x.250" DOM. any other square, round, plate, angle etc can be ordered at the shop and delivered next day (to ECGS). frame seperation for the links is adjustable for 3.5" or 4.5" and the axle end is 7", 8", 9"

progress on this project comes to a screeching halt. i broke my foot today.

this joker is about to get one of the boss mans custom 3 links and rolled out of the shop. it involves the closest scrap getting welded to the most convienent spot so that said truck can roll
