With media and social media the way it is today, does anyone else feel that a truly unbiased jury of your peers is impossible to find?

Just curious..... Thoughts?

Regardless of social media, there is no such thing as an unbiased jury. Just look at the Supreme Court.

I was thinking about locally also. Look at the Kerrick trial here in Charlotte. They say they actually have a juror that hasn't heard anything at all about it.... I know it's possible, but a rarity.

That's the paradox of the modern age...

The people we need on juries are people that have no connection to social media, internet or news - but those people are all living off the grid and very hard to find. :)

Look at recent major cases in florida. Zimmerman and casey anthony. Once the sheeple have made up there mind, it doesn't matter what the jury decides. You are and always will be guilty to your "peers".

I don't know anything about the kerrick trial by that name. Iff I knew some details I may remember it but I can honestly say I haven't heard any of the facts.

Nothing new. How do you feel about O.J.? Everyone and their moms said he was guilty even tho he was found innocent

Thats why I asked the question, just to see if it's possible in today's media influenced society.

I only know the high spots of the story, but I would lean on the guilty side of manslaughter from what I've heard. I could be swayed in my opinion with the WHOLE story but it would take some real evidence. I don't even consider the race issue, but I hold police/fire /medic to a higher standard. There are many that don't wear the badge with honor and true love of assisting others. As a firefighter I do my job for one selfish reason, I feel good being there (as a team) for a stranger who is having the worst day of their life. A police officer is there to protect and serve.

Is this about the guy who wrecked his car and then about broke into a women's front door?

Yeah that's the case, but it could be anything or any one that the media finds interesting enough to report on.

Like @RHSCTJ said.... It's become more of "you're guilty until proven innocent" and even then "you're guilty" ! Ol Zimmerman can't fart in public now without the media all up in his ass.

I also agree with holding public servants to a higher standard, but I'm also keeping an open mind to the case. There is some major evidence that they are keeping hushed for a reason. (Blood test, dash cam, etc) I also feel that The city of Charlotte should not have paid the family until after the trial. IMO they basically tossed him under the bus with that move. I'm sure that'll come up in the trial....

I'm not saying he did or didn't. Thats for a jury to decide. I'm saying with all the media surrounding this trial that it would be hard for them to find an unbiased jury. That and with the fact the city paid out the two and a quarter million dollars beforehand kinda throws him to the wolves whether he's guilty or not.

May I ask a question only slightly related to this discussion....

Why the fuck can you be found NOT guilty in criminal court, only to then be found GUILTY in civil court and lose everything you have.
