My lights are really dim on my yota, and I really need some new ones. What's the best brand, and where should I go?

After I do that I need to replace my windshield too. It's so cracked I'm scared to go into one of those automatic touch-free carwashes! :D

Any suggestions would be extremely helpful!

Thanks!

Oh wait, one more question.. how in the heck to I put my picture on here? I just joined this site today and can't figure it out for the life of me.

I just put some extra vision bulbs in my truck. they was a big improvement but not exactly what i was looking for.

Ive never replaced my windshield, but my mom had all kinds of problems with safelite customer service wise.

Pics are a plus for the paid members. The info and friends that come from this site is well worth the 5.50/year.

Oh and welcome:driver:

Well then.

I think I'm just gonna go to Napa and see what they have in stock. I looked online and they have some for about $20 a piece or less.. So I really don't have much to lose.
I looked about going to Safelite, and that would cost me about $173. I don't think I'll go there though. Thanks for the input!

Also look around the classified section, there have been alota of yotas floating around latly. You may be able to get a wind shield for next nothing and put in yourself.

Well I would do that if I knew how!! Haha.
I could get someone I know to do it I guess. Could I go to like a junkyard and get one? I really don't know how to do much as far as my truck goes. I've learned to change my oil and check all the basic stuff, but that's about it. But I'm learning!

lol I'm going to stop posting in the newbie threads before I get banned on accident.... sorry feel free to pm if you really need help

Its nothing too hard, make sure you clean the old seal off the new window and around the opening. Ive seen different methods for getting the old one out.

you could get an HID head light kit for $35 (depending on year model). i have them in every vehicle i own and could never go back. if your not sure what i mean, they are those blueish lights you see that are extremley bright when behind or coming torward you. i know it sucks being blinded by them, but when i can see EVERYHTING in front of me its awesome. and they do excellent off road too!

i work at the autozone in kannapolis, if you want to ride by i can help you out with those lights. and if you wanna email me your pic ill post one for ya.:lol:

Wow... :shaking: You're ruthless! lol

Anyways, about the lights. I'd recommend going with the HID kit if you want something bright. You could spend $50+ on silverstar lights and still not be happy. The HIDs will give you the brightness you're looking for. There are conversion kits all over the web. Do some searches and post up here with some options you're interested in. Then maybe someone has some experience with that particular brand.

what?! just saying........:fuck-you:
may as well welcome her the garage way

How long have your lights been dim? Your alternator may not be working properly and you could be slowly loosing charge. Just something to check before you get below 10 volts and the engine ceases to run.

What kind of Yota? There are some simple wiring upgradess to make the light brighter on someof the older ones.

What's you facebook page? Open up a picture on there to full size then right click and get the properties. That will get you the we address for the pic. Then copy and paste that here with
behind it.

Well please enlighten us. I would like to know them. Another trick is to add more light or at least that what I did. Brights all the time plus two tractor lights, still not as bright as newer stuff but it works for me. Also for pics use photobucket or similiar it gives you the img code all you have to do is upload and copy paste.

I got some lights!

I went to Carquest in Concord and one of my friends helped me out. They are Wagnor H6054 halogen high/low beams. I don't really know much about them, but I think I'm gonna have someone put them in that knows a little more about it than I do. :) I would have gotten those extra bright lights a couple of people mentioned, but I hate being blinded by them, so I'd rather not blind other people! Of course, the people who do have them can see a lot more, but I guess it's all a matter of opinion.

Thanks for the welcome from the guy that works in Kannapolis, but I got some now! Haha.

The next thing I gotta do is either get some new tires or replace the windshield.
I'm looking for 33/12.50/15's, but if it's a good deal I might even go 35's (if they fit).

Oh, and for the guy who asked what kind of yota, its a 93 single cab with a 3in body lift and 33's.

I was told that you have to pay the subscription fee, so until I do that I can't have a picture. Booo :(

As of right now I have to have mine on bright all the time too. It's sad :( my poor yota.
But, he(his name is Drew) will be blinding people as soon as he gets knew lights! Haha.

ive got a sawzall that says they will fit:rolleyes:
I know right! We might have to do that, cause I really wanna roll 35's. :D Of course if I do that I'll have to gear the thing to be able to pull them. It struggles going up a hill with a fourwheeler on the back, not to mention your looking at the sky when your driving cause it squats like crazy.
4 cylinders are awesome! haha.

Wait till you have to pull somebody out, that really shows you how weak but in a way strong the 22RE is. What gears are in it now?
