Any new ones that don't break the bank for recommendation?

No. Tires are ridiculously expensive . Anyway, I run Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my truck. Have almost 50k on them and still have some to go, but have been eyeing a new set and they're right at 500 a tire for my size.

Looking for a set for the bronco that is actually might get built now. Thinking Falken like I have on my truck, since they seem about 50 bucks a tire cheaper than BFG or Cooper
What size? I'd run JL/JT takeoff wild peaks in a heartbeat.

285/70/17

That’s the same size as JL Rubicon take-offs. Can usually find a set with wheels for around $900 with a few miles on them. Then sell the wheels to the Jeep sport guys so they can look like a rubicon.

There is actually a guy in Morganton with BFG KOs with bronco wheels , practically new. Like $1200 for the wheels and tires. 5k miles on them. I almost bought them this weekend before I found some others

As most others have already said, if you're going with a 285/70r17, get you some Jeep take offs, scrap the jeep rims afterwards, you'll get as much that way as if you try to sell them,

Also watch B6G's classfieds for Badlands (33") or Black Diamond (32") Takeoffs, Not as common as jeep takeoffs, but still usually a decent deal.

What are you having built? A Lot of Bronco's actually come with decent tires already...

On Mine I'm running Maxxis Razr AT 811's in a 37x12.5r17 which are a really good deal, But the 285/70r17's aren't an amazing deal at that size..

Not sure about breaking the bank but I love the Nitto Terra Grapplers. Have the 2nd set of 35’s on my 83 K2500 Suburban. 85k miles on the first set and these are looking just as strong. Ride quiet and great. Wears even, I rotated every 5k. Rode on Carova Beach (OBX) a number of times, did great and did not air down. Went to the Ridge Grapplers on my Silverado. Wearing good but they sing more than the Terra Grapps.

If you are buying new, check availability, especially with Nitto. I bought some 315s from a guy in Belmont this weekend that owned a tire shop and during our conversation he said some of the Nittos in the larger size and preferred tread have been out of stock for a year or more. That was why he went with the 37” BFG (upgraded from the 315s on the 392 rubicons) instead of Nitto.

@sparkn89 has some available

Come up for the weekend, get tires, explore, drink beer.

Other than the drinking, that would be a good weekend, replace drinking with pedaling!

I put a set of Firestone Destination XT's on my truck. 55k milage warranty and almost zero weight to balance. I have been very pleased. I have yet to spin them over through the wet farm roads. The truck seems to sink a bit, they grab and we keep moving.

We bought another set of KO2s a little over a year ago. The old set still had good tread after 65k, but snow/slush performance wasn't as great anymore and a couple of them were cupped from a bad shock, so replaced before the snow.

That’s not bad but I’m also lazy when new ones are 1500 bucks. Granted they don’t have wheels that I could sell then but I might offer this dude less money and see.

Yeah, if you don’t need wheels then it’s not that great of a deal. But the wheels can be resold if necessary or just swap out and sell your old setup.

Yeah. We are getting a set of hre ft1 and heels for it. So no need for wheels. No idea how long they would take to sell

If you have time, a lot of Jeep guys are selling their old single spare for like $125. You can take some time picking them up as you see them on Craigslist or Marketplace.

I actually will be selling my old spare. Brand new, just don’t need it anymore now that I upsized to 315s. Find a few more and you have a cheap set of 285 BFG KO2s

Pretty sure I’m going to do the Falkens new, I have them on my truck and like them. Less hassle and stress and at 240 a tire last week that I have them priced at it beats a 300 dollar tire

How did all this years snow work out for you?

Had several hours of drive time in the snow this year. Not as deep as last year, though.

My $.02

I don't behave like most people. I tend to drag things in the dirt that weigh more than my truck. I ran BFG KO2 for years. They worked perfectly. Unfortunately they are NLA so all information is moot.

I had an emergency, and had to buy the only tires available in Podunk Tn on a weekend. Bridgestone Duelers. Unless you have suicidal tendencies don't touch them. They are junk, and have lousy on road traction. I never even got them off road before I got rid of them.

When I went to buy new tires there were no BFG available nationwide in my size. (Thanks Fauchi). I bought Yokohama Geolander ATs. I would rate them about a 90. They don't like mud while towing. I have taken the dump trailer to the landfill multiple times with them. The extra heft in the butt of the Burb helped. It still got dicey a time or two.

I bought a k2500 pickup with Falkan Wildpeak tires. They are awesome. The tread cleans easier. I have gotten them stuck, but pickups are light in the rear, and in those places only tracks or paddles would have gotten through. In the landfill completion they win hands down. Even when it was so soupy the trailer was wandering all over the truck never spun badly, even with tglhe light butt.

In road noise is about the same. Wet roads are equal minus the Duelers.
