I like most of the other build shows, OCC, Jesse, and the others but Boyd Cottington and Duane are total d-heads.

I agree. I remember reading about Boyd in Hot Rod mags growing up. It was pretty dissapointing to see finally him on TV; what a dooshbag.

I woulda belted Dwayne in the mouth the first time he got in my face. Then I woulda loaded my toolbox and rode over to Foose.

I think if I had the coin to buy one of any of their machines (OCC or Coddington), after watching the shows and seeing how EVERY SINGLE TIME they screw around enough to hit major delays, I'd wonder if that's really where I want to spend my money. I expect delays when you are dealing with a one-off true custom machine, but they both have been in the business long enough that most of them should be eliminated.

Yeah what makes Discovery think we wanna see a soap opera. They tried that with the first Southern Choppers episode and it was terrible. The drama all looked and sounded scripted. Build or bust is not too bad.

Boyd doesn't even own his own name....he's gone bankrupt so many times. What a dink!

OCC was good the first 5 shows. After that, the drama was just stupid

he biker build-offs are great.

If I had the money. Paul Yaffe would build my bikes, and Chip Foose would build my cars

Elanor.......<drool>

Boyd looks like a total dweeb though. How much of that is scripted is yet to be known.

fyi duane is a really nice and helpful guy in real life. we were trying to source custom widshield gaskets on a 72 dart and boyd's shop was a shot in the dark, duane was the one we were put in touch with and he called back like 3 different times with ideas he came up with.

the DIY channel has some good car shows on sometimes... Id take Jay Leno's collection anyday... That man is a real gear head...

Yeah, I give props to Leno. For a guy w/ a $hitpile of cash, he still wears bluejeans and will climb under cars himself and get dirty. And he knows them like nobody else I've ever met.
Oooooh, to be the guy that maintains his "fleet".

The "prime it one day paint it the next" is Wal Mart level painting on cars that expensive.

His company is called West Coast Choppers not Jesse James.

Does he have another company called Jesse James?

Hostile? I was just curious about his company. Geez....:shaking:

Foose is da man. Work is second to none, and on Overhaulin, I never see corners being cut, and their work is very comprehensive.

Not to mention, how his wife puts up with the hours he spends working on cars amazes me.

I've got a buddy who biulds street rods. He told me that when the show first started airing he was getting calls about building cars. People were saying that after seeing the show there was no freaking way Boyd was building their car. LOL

Foose is cool, Charlie, Boyds real paint man, went over to Foose as did a lot of the crew as Foose got bigger. Chip actually worked for Boyd when he was starting out and several of Boyds show winning designs were actually Foose designs while he was "under Boyds wing".

I don't remember or know about Foose.
I don't see how anybody could work with the stupid deadlines and harrassment from any of these pricks. (Guess that's why I work for myself)
