I haven't bought a Peterson's 4 wheel and off road in over ten years. I thought it was going down hill back then. Only about 50-60 pages in it and more ads than articles. I remember back in the 90's the rag was 140-150 pages and chuck full of features and interesting tech articles. You could spend hours reading it and tearing out info you wanted to save.

Haven’t sub’d to a magazine in many years. For the reasons you mentioned. I get it though, the internet killed it really. Tech is seconds away if we want, in as many forums as we can dream of. Instagram took away the spotlight of magazine covers. I certainly cut my teeth on Four Wheeler Magazine in me teens though. I waited with such excitement for those each month. I’d read them the day they arrived, then over again hoping I missed something.

I guess Nitto is next by that logic?

My grandmother wanted her awkward 8-year old grandson to read, so she got me a subscription to Hot Rod magazine. I kept every issue, since 01/84-present.

Sad to see the car/truck magazines go by the wayside, but understand it, too.

Hope my son appreciates the "collection" when I am dust...

RIP printed mags. I started reading Car Craft and Hot Rod in the eighties, then quickly added 4W&OR and Four Wheeler to the mix as I was running out of material to read. This was in shopping malls where everyone hung out or even our local libraries. I remember being so excited when Jp mag came out, was a little disappointed when it got sucked up by petersens. Once the internet got huge, I started letting my subscriptions lapse, renewed a few times with neighborhood kids selling magazines for fundraisers, or the random few times I said screwit...prices for 2-3 yrs subs became ridiculously low.

I’ve got tubs full of 4WOR, JP, and Fourwheeler from 1998/1999 till about 2012. I kept them for a reference library with my awkward ass memory that I could remember round about when they did a tech article on them. I switched to the digital copies but in the last 3 years I’ve kind of disappeared from many forums and haven’t really been to into them. My most recent thing is motortrend on demand. It’s $5.34 a month and more content than you can shake a stick at. Always dreamt of building a rig to be featured in one of those mags. I should have started welding in highschool, but I was too interested in keg parties and chasing skirts.

I am still old school and love to read the mags( mainly in bathroom). At 10 bucks a year, why not? For some reason I just don’t like reading them on line. I guess it is not a surprise, but kinda bummed actually.

My old 10 second DD SSP coupe
When I met my wife, her brother had a Fox that ran 8s and her dad's ran 9s (quarter mile). So I was told to build a 10 second car so we could compete together.
Good times for sure
Those SSP’s are getting tough to find complete. Good looking fox.

I remember getting a stupid deal circa 2010ish for Fourwheeler...5 years for either 19.99 or $24.99...and thought ‘this is it, going the way of the newspaper’. The deal didn’t make sense since I had already been an annual subscriber for several years, so figured they were trying to lock down subscriptions.

If you don't have a long term subscription, it's on sale for $1-2 a month.

Well doesn't this suck...I've been subscribing to JP mag for what seems like forever... More than the past decade anyway. I know they've been shifting to more advertisements than tech lately, but something's got to pay the bills, right? What peeves me even more about it is my daughter now steals the mag from me every time I get a new issue in the mail. I don't know who will be more disappointed...

man, i just through out a chest full of 4wd mags. guess i should have held on to those.

I didn't even expect another mag, after the Feb. issue or Four Wheeler, I got 2 weeks back, but got my March JP issue today. All 74 pages, complete with the cardboard Subscription inserts, for another 2 years of Magazine! {So it says} Also My subscription runs through Feb.21. I Keep forgetting to call Tens, & ask about Refunds. Last week I e mailed JP, by their magazine listed e mail contact, & it "failed delivery", as No Such Address. I don't know What"s going on?

Guess this is a good place to also say Bye, to R-22 Freon. Production has stopped [thought it already was], & will illegal to sell after the 31st. I expect that effect the automotive field, more that the building sector.
