This creature was sleeping on the upper left side of my porch roof Saturday night, then I saw it Monday night sleeping in the exact same position on the upper right corner (about 20’ opposite side). The ledge it’s perched on is only about an inch or so wide.

Any ideas? We had a couple, but wanted a broader consensus.

A juvenile or adult Carolina Wren, you can tell from the tail...

they commonly leave the nest early because the nests their parents build are usually too small to hold 4 or 6 of the chicks as they grow. Once 1 or 2 fall out/leave the others follow them or try to, they fly poorly and try to land on branches poorly, crashing on the ground and into bushes etc. The whole gang and adults make a bunch of bird noise w the chicks calling and the adults too as they try to corral and continue to feed them for another few days. Lot's of drama and entertaining to watch the fiasco.

Good call. Similar tail for sure.
