Another MJ Build thread

That is a truss and a half on that 14 bolt.

Looks good. You going to be ready for the flats?

That truss didn't look all that big on AutoCAD, but when it came off the plasma, it was a little larger than I expected it to be.

Its not looking good for the Flats...... If work slows down, I may take the week off prior to the race and try to finish it up. Even at that, I'm not sure that I would be crazy about racing a totally untested ring, especially with as much as i have changed with this build.

Got the front suspension/steering buttoned up and loaded it to take over to Hurley's house for him to do some work while im out of town for work.

Idk man, that head room looks questionable. :flipoff2:
Getting close yeah?
You may be amazed how little headroom there is for a sasquatch like me. I MIGHT have 2" between my helmet and the cage.... Iam destined for a life of ridiculously high roof lined buggies :(

There is still a lot to do, but it definitely feels like we are getting closer.

Not much exciting stuff has been happening, but we are still making progress whenever we can.

Last weekend we only worked one day. We got the fuel lines in, but not finished. Still have to add in filter, catch can on vent, and maybe make better mount for pump. Possibly clean up the routing, we just kinda threw the stuff in there.

We got the new steering column made and installed.

And one pic for the headroom haters :flipoff2:

Other than that, not much. I placed some orders today for lots of little odds and ends to finish up the fuel and brake lines. also switches to replace the functions i lost on the steering column.

looks like you're watching an orange 'Manche zip by in that last pic...:flipoff2:

This may actually happen..... IF I make it to the next race, I will likely be babying it trying to stay together. My guess is I will have little or no seat time in the rig before the race.

Better watch out, I'm pretty sure adam only knows one speed - not to mention the upcoming fenderwell exit exhaust will ensure you hear this thing as it flys over the top of any competitor

who are you trying to kid... everyone on this board has seen pics of the truck and knows you beat on it. Now that you got "tons" you can go that much harder:driver:

Good news is i think your rear truss will hold! (sorry couldnt help it)

These two comments coming from the dude with the most beat yota i knew of( brokeass4runner may have you beat now) with a truss large enough to hold his brake lights. Was your tag on that thing too? :flipoff2:

With all the builds popping up lately, I figured I would bump this thread after 7 months without an update.

Progress has been wayyyy slow for me, as ive been working out of town since basically june. Getstucksome on the board took it up to his house and did a lot of the smaller stuff that needed to be done. He mounted and wired the battery, added storage, mounted rear air bumps, disc brakes, ran brake lines, added the roof and a lot of other stuff to help move the project along.

Now I moved it back into my tiny 1 light bulb garage to try to get going on it again. The plan was to take it out to california to spectate at KOH and wheel, but it isn't looking all that promising at this point.

I have changed plans a little bit. Since I am no longer trying to keep it ECORS B Class legal, i went to a coilover up front with air bumps. I also have a PSC full hydro kit that i will be running. Getting rid of the coil buckets really gave me a lot more options for mounting the hydro steering.
Here is a crappy pic showing the cramped garage and how it currently sits.

if its not gonna be a class b truck is this gonna be a play toy? or class c?

Play toy. I have a cherokee set up for racing in B class this season, and this one will just be a crawler. If it holds up well I may build a stroker and try to race a C class race or two just for the hell of it, though.
