well we got hit last night at my work they only got away with one mower the most expensive one of course ... and the retards got the second one hung up on a stump.. man i hate a theaf
 
Yeah, some POS completely dismantled our heating and A/C units at the new shop for all the copper.......
 
Yeap, gas prices going up and copper is going thru the roof! Lot of places spending the money to cage it up.
 
They sold all the land behind my house and they are building houses back there.One of them is being built less than 8 feet from my back property line,which is where my barn is.Both my big tool boxes are out there,welder,drill press,Engine stands,Engine Cherry Picker,Lawn Mowers,Pretty much every tool I own.Plus that's where I keep all the boxes of wire I use for work,probably 1000 pounds of copper.I was out working in the yard today and left the "Doors" wide open.When I came back around to the back yard there were 10 dudes standing at the property line chatting about my stuff in Spanish.It's one of those things like what do you do?I am almost already mentally preparing the insurance claim.Or am I being paranoid?

I do believe I'd spend the next few nights out there in a sleeping bag with a shotgun.

We've had a good bit of copper wire and landscape/atv trailers disappear from stores in our district in the last week or so. Seems like with the price of scrap going up people are trying to get their hands on whatever they can take to the yard.

Yeah,my dog sleeps in the bed with us and he isn't loud or intimidating.I do security work as well as the A/V Home theater stuff,so I worked up a motion detector tied to a power supply and a 120 Db Siren.When the motion is triggered,it closes it's contact closure.That completes the ground to the siren which is already wired to the hot side of the power supply.It will go off as long as there is Movement.I have always slept with a loaded gun next to the bed,if I hear a siren tonight,I'm gonna get to test how fast I can clear 6 rounds out of my 12 gauge.

Yeah so far it's been All quiet on the barn front.Although the other night there were some Bunny's out there scrounging around enough to shake the doors and set off the siren a couple times.They were still hanging around the door when I went out.It sucked going out there at 1AM for no reason,but it was good to know what I put together works!!!
 
when I was in High school my tech math teacher was building a garage on his house and kids kept vandalizing it and stealing stuff and I thought he had a pretty good idea. He took a motion sensor floodlight and mounted it outside, but instead of putting lights in it he screwed in one of those drop cord adapters and ran that in his room. He hooked that up to a bright light that shined at him so he would know when someone else was outside but they wouldn't be alerted. Said it woke him up a lot for a few months but it finally worked. Sounded like a good idea to me if you have a reoccurring problem.

I feel for ya though, I work for a landscape company and have stuff stolen all the time. Once some women in a Mercedes convertible came up and took a back pack blower off our truck while I was standing there.:lol: ran down the street after her but stopped when I got close as the windows were tinted to dark for me too see in.

If you come down MLK Parkway to where it hits 55,then continue towards the RTP.I am right over there.Less than 10 minutes from you.
 
damn it well they got us again this morning 4 more mowers time for some concrete barriers.... any other suggestions? and if anyone happens to be approched with a hella deal on a Scag or Hustler zero turn mower please get a name and number and pm me thanks were thinking that the prospect is in or around lexington winston area
 
I put alot of work into securing my belongings. I have sheds hiding behind fencing, alarm system, Eventually a camrea. We live at the end of the road with two other houses and we all hang out together. When a car comes down the road that does not belong someone will see them
 
Man got hit twice!! Time to beef up security!! Best of luck finding them! Time to start searching craigslist and ebay!
 
Some posts, chicken wire, a half dozen geese should do the job in alerting of intruders. Then a pissed off owner with firearm of choice coming out to finish the job should do the tirck.
 
Was this theft at a business or residence? Whats the details on the items taken and I will do some searching for you.. Hell, may even setup a fake buy as my sting if I locate em!

Dont worry, it seems like there are alot of stupid people out there. I remember reading about this one guy who responded to a CL add for a car. He met the buyer, they took a test drive, then the buyer asked if he could take it out on his own to try it.. The seller agreed... He never saw the dude again.. A few weeks later he saw his car for sale on CL. Informed the "seller" he was interested in the car... showed up to make the buy, but this time with the police..

I have a feeling Karma will pay the perps a visit!
 
I got a few nice mowers for sale want a scag etc?
