Another Tire Vulcanizing/Repair Thread

The 3m windshield gasket was the goto for years. You would basically consider the tire and maybe wheel junk after using it, because it would not come off. You can find it at any parts store.

This was more or less a last-ditch effort at stopping/slowing down the leaks. I was committed to this "repair" and the idea that if it didn't work, I'd be looking at new tires anyway.

Also, @R Q if you haven't done it already, it might be worth running a couple wraps of gorilla tape around the inner bead if you're going to pull it apart.

If you wipe a little film of oil on the rim and put the urethane on the tire them air it up to set the bead and let the air back out till it sets up you can get the tire back off of the rim when you get ready to remove the tire. Also you can get a junk rim and cut part of rim where the tire bead set and make a mold for the urethane to shape to and then put the tire on your rim. You all just need to live in the mountains for a few years and you will learn/earn your degree in redneck engineering.

I can vouch that this does wonders for seating inner beads! Did it on a previous set and had zero burping issues.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen when the 38"s went on 🙄
 
This replaced the window weld with this stuff, an engineer friend said it's the stuff so I used it. Looks like I have a sealed up tire so I'm gonna run it. @LT1JEEP , that's a great idea you have there, If I would have known I would have tried that too. I think this tire is molded to the rim forever now! lol
