Like the title says. I need a large dent removed from a CJ7 hood and repainted to match.

you need a new hood

Text pictures to this guy and tell him I sent you (that way he will charge you more). Website and facebook page are non-existent, but he's done some really good work for me in the past, reasonably priced, and not far away (a couple houses down from the 1799 house on Stanley-Lucia Road).

When I got my red truck, it had some major dent/crease action in the door that was about 0.5-1.5" deep in multiple places:

I told him I didn't need perfect, just good, and this is what ~$200 got me:

Will do Matt. Went to S&M behind the old slot car track by mariposa and got a $4-600 quote. I was expecting worse.

Shocked you got a quote. The buddies I use to have that were paint masters have retired and moved on to greener pastures. Seems "body shops" now only work for insurance payouts. Unless you're willing to step up to full custom paint

Small shop. Friend of a friend.

Can’t speak for prices but I know he does good custom work from what friends have had done there.

Might check with Helton's Automotive, on Hwy 27, near you. He works with a lot of Classic cars, but maybe he'll give you a quote. There's a guy around Lexington , I believe, that collects Junk CJs. He's usually on Market Place. And another place around Henderson, that has CJ body parts.
Per Ron's statement; I once had a golf ball dent in my windshield frame. Got a quote from a somewhat friend /bodyshop. It was $250. I told him Hell I can buy a new frame for $100! [At that time] He said it's the Labor dude!

I used Whitey's Body Shop in Shuffletown when a yeti cooler fell on my TJ hood from a top garage shelf. Dent wise they did great and were able to salvage what likely should have been a replaced hood. Paint match is slightly off but probably just due to the original paint being aged. Want to say 500-600 sounds right but this was five or six years ago so don't wholly remember.
