A friend is possibly looking at 21 acres in the Buchanan area and has been talking pros and cons with me so I figured I’d ask cause I know some of y’all are Virginians (by choice or otherwise).
Not a retired vet, but a vet... living by choice in the Commonwealth
Moved here in 2018, mainly due to *ALL* acreage in NC being $10k/ea... even toxic waste sites, swamps, or 85* slopes 🙄
Same as
@Tom@Hilltop_Machine ... everything was less (taxes, insurance, etc.), but has seen some increase in the past 5 years.
Can't speak to the vet specific benefits available, but can point y'all to some Vet resources that cover VA, likely more informed on what's out there than I?
I'm in an agriculture county (Patrick = "poor") that totally missed the boat 20 years ago to bring businesses here, and that hasn't changed today. The closest thing to "traffic" is a tractor or occassional wreck and is 100% laid back.
Buchanan, being along the I-81 corridor, could be similar? OR could be an extension of every other urban shathole?
