funny isn;t that the Trout unlimited want to close trail access. since that is how I used get to the places i trout fished. or atleast I did befor I lived in NC

Funny thing back in Va, the local group(I THINK it was trout unl. It was some fishing group) went to the state about closing the trails all around "the meadows" up near crabtree falls. (This has been a LOOONNGGG time ago) and the reply from the state was, "OK, we'll close em if it will protect the fish, but since we won't be able to get back there to patrol, it means no fishing or hunting. ANYWHERE."
For some reason, the "environmental" issues went away, and instead they just asked for help with the trail at some of the crossings, put signs, and people actually do pretty well.
