Anyone use an iPhone 6 Plus?

We just ordered a pair of iPhone 6 Plus's because Verizon had a killer sale this past weekend. I think my wife will actually like the large screen better than her iPhone 5c, and she just keeps her phone in her purse, so the larger size shouldn't bother her for convenience sake, but I'm concerned about it for me.

I like having mine on my belt, and from the dimensions, it about looks like you'd need a fanny pack for the darn thing. No way in hell I'm wearing a man purse, satchel, messenger bag or any sort of luggage just to keep my phone in, so how practical are they from a dude perspective?

I went ahead and ordered LifeProof cases for both, so that adds a little girth to them as well. Ordinarily I would have gone OtterBox for mine, but the LifeProof cases were buy one get one half off, so I went there. I understand that OtterBox bought LifeProof, so warranty is now same.

Not at all practical. Iphones are for girls.

I got a Droid Turbo 2 back in the spring, kept it for 1 day, and took it back, paid the fee, exchanged it for a Samsung Galaxy S6. Even the GS6 is too tall for my back pocket sometimes and will work its way out when sitting, or catch on the seat when getting up. The LG G2 was the perfect size phone, and everything since then has been too big. It was smaller than the GS6 and still had a bigger screen and better shape. My wife has an Iphone 6 regular, and its an ok size, but has a smaller screen than the GS6.

The 6+ is a big phone. I currently have the regular 6 which I think is the perfect size. keeps in my pocket well. You know the 7 is just about to come out next month. Wife wants the bigger sized phone, but I am not so sure.

My 5 officially died yesterday, went to Verizon and haphazardly stumbled across the deals. Ended up walking out of there paying $20 in tax, a 6+, otterbox defender, an iPad mini and a $90 credit to my account...with no change to my contract length or monthly payment (including the new iPad service). I'm waiting for it to bite me in the ass, but tentative outlook says I got paid $70 to do all that.

Anyway...I'm phone stupid, work started supplying me with iphones, so that's what I've gone with. As long as it calls, texts and lets me surf the internet, that's all I care about. First impression...being larger than the average bear with about a 9.75" hand, I feel it's too much phone, but the majority of my phone use is done one handed. Maybe I'll get used to it. What I do know is I hate how frickin difficult it is to type with the otterbox and tempered glass protector. I was told it would take time to 'mesh and settle'. Beyond that, the wife has had the 6+ for almost a year now...never a complaint and says it's 'perfect'...and her hand size is about half of mine.

My fiancé has the 6 + and it is great for her. I do not care for it. Too buff to fit in my pocket of both pants, and the inside pocket of my welding coat, or in the front chest pocket f my coveralls.

I got the iPhone SE. It has nearly all the same specs and battery as the 6S, but it's the size of the 5.

I'll use SAMs phone at times just bc the screen is so much larger, it is definitely easier to ready some things.

Buy the phone and do a month-to-month plan once your existing contract expires. Dig a little bit into how the plan pricing works, and you'll see there are pretty significant savings versus a contract and amortized phone pricing usually. I'm saving many hundreds of dollars over the standard 2-year period on Verizon versus a contract. It does vary with the phone and what deals are offered, etc.

Verizon doesn't actually offer my Motorola anyway, but it works great on their network. I think I paid $300 for mine (maybe $200 on daily deal?), and I'm saving $20/month for line access by owning the phone, which is $480 over 2 years, and that doesn't include not paying the standard up-front phone cost (with a contract phone) or any other costs for service, etc.

I'm about to buy a phone for the wife because her contract is up in November, but her phone has been officially dropped for Android updates (stuck on KitKat forever) and is suffering massive battery drain after the recent Google Play Services updates that don't work on older Android versions. Yay software updates. (No, it's not the battery, it's a very well known problem with Google Services background processes for many brands/models that can't be updated past KitKat)

Well, I knew pockets would be out of the question just looking at the dimensions. I am sort of wondering if I should have just got the SE for the same reason Mac mentioned, but the sale was so good on the 6 plus that it was only $2 more a month for a LOT more phone.

Anyone found any belt clips that work for the 6 plus? I wonder if I just put it in the front of my belt like a rodeo prize or something. Cowboy Up!

I have a Motorola Moto X Pure and I carry it in my front pocket. It's HUGE. The phone in the slim case is 6.25x3.25 inches, it's just a shave smaller than the 6+ but has a slightly bigger screen.

You'll get used to it after a week, as long as the phone is thin. I'll never go back to a small screen, I'll tell you that much...

In my front pocket. I don't wear those hipster jeans!

OK... I just looked at the specs again and pulled out my ruler and marked it out on paper. It doesn't look as insanely huge as I was figuring, but I still doubt it would go in my front pocket with most jeans and shorts - not without some discomfort, anyway. No hipster jeans in my closet, either! I guess I had in mind my daughter's iPad Mini.

You would be surprised I bet, it fits well in almost all my shorts and jeans. Only issue is when I am on the bike the angle can be a little annoying.

Anyone who wears their phone on their hip/belt should be required to wear these.

I've had the 6 plus for a while. It was easier than alway looking for reading glasses....
I just slip it into my front or back pocket. It sticks out of the back but it's fine. I run a slim case on it for drops. The bulky ones don't do pocket duty that well.

I have the 6plus and I love it. It's a good size and I'll never go back to a droid, have a life proof fre on it

6+ here also
after using it I would not go any smaller
carry in front pocket too

I just got a note 7, really like the s pen functions, and the optical reader is pretty cool. oh, and the fact I got a free 256GB card on the way for free from Samsung is a $300 upgrade to the device too. Went from a galaxy s5.

I've had this Galaxy S4 since the week after they came out...about 4 years ago. I've rooted it, disabled a lot of factory apps, deleted everything I could, and it's been pretty great. I broke the screen and replaced that too. I refuse to pay for a new phone and make my monthly bill go up....I also have an older plan that's not offered any more and I don't plan on losing it either.

I have nothing useful to add other than Andriod>Apple.

Our Verizon bill just went down by $60/mo because both of our phones were "paid off". We're on the old plan, where each phone has its own data allocation. It's cheaper than the current offerings if you only have two devices. Paying for internet service for an iPad is fucking stupid. You're carrying around a hot spot in your pocket already. Just pair the iPad with your phone and share the connection.

But yeah, save a couple hundred bucks (minimum) by buying the phone outright from somewhere other than Verizon and then putting it on your existing account. I broke my last phone (don't ever put them in your back pocket!), and bought a new one off Amazon. The new one cost a couple hundred bucks. The broken one cost me $660 because I paid for it through my Verizon account at $30/mo.

I'm jealous. I got the 4 right before the 5 came out. I didn't like the fact that they dropped the SD slot on the 5. Apparently nobody else did, either! I got it on the payment plan and my bill actually came down when all applicable discounts added up. I'm seriously considering jumping to a 7, though, if it isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg. I like the clicker on the new pen being on the back like a ball point. Makes a lot more sense than the old one. The rugged features are a big upgrade, too.

Our plan was the per phone data plan until about a year ago...Verizon actually changed it to a group data plan mid-contract without consent. Apparently there's a class action suit about that. Old plan was a cumulative 10gig of data...new is 12gig...same price, so we weren't too irritated.

As for iPad service...that's what we've done, use the phone as the hot spot. Main appeal to me for the $10/mo service was the independent device back up.
