AOP/Coppinger cove ride pics

All loaded and ready

Met up with the fellas for some doushebag parking thread pics

Reached AOP about 5 and set up camp. Power and water hookups made life SO much better!

The next morning we woke up to HEAVY frost

Joe was our "Overlanding Expert

Sleeping in the back of his truck and cooking on the trailer

In years past, that was know as just "Camping"

This is also known as "Hobo'ing" if you're not doing so away from "home"

Next, we headed down to check in

After Casey unloaded we rolled out

We first hit the most popular trail on the site "GWT"

After that we hit the black diamond trail "55" which was too much for me last time on 33's

On to 4, hands down the best trail of the day! Only thing that woulda been better would have been to stay on 65 and try that section....but 41 and 65 would be a whole day for a group this big

And then......there was JOE!!

We settled down to a dinner of kabobs from Shane and a nice FAR

The next morning was overcast, 40 degrees and drizzling

Time for Coppinger Cove

We had several trees down at one point. None of us had a saw but I had a full size axe, and we had a couple of hand saws and made quick work of it as a team

The cave was freakin AMAZING!!! If you haven't seen video of it, just youtube search....you'll see how to get a rig in and out of it.

You KNOW I had too, right?

Our guide got snagged on a rock and had to winch off a flat spot (aka @Nakoma style)

Wee at at Shoney's on the way out. 1/2 way thru our meal they locked the door. Seems the staff all had some kind of turrible stomach virus. YAY us!!!

Looks like an awesome trip. I read a comment somewhere that mentioned 17 rigs! Did that many CTB folks make it or did ya'll join in with some folks out there? That is a large group!

Not really. I think we moved along pretty good for a large group. We only got out and heckled at the harder obstacles.
