Are you cheaper than me......

You must be young. I got my first car in 1982.
You Can't be talking to me! My uncle gave me his old car, before I was 16. It was pre-AMC! 1953 Nash Rambler, 2 door. 6 cylinder flat head, 3 speed column w/overdrive! WEEEE! I don't recall if it would make 75mph, but if you drove it over 55, it'd overheat. Not much problem, as I wrecked it in 6 months, & traded up for a 61 Ford 2 door fastback. Guess I was lucky it only had a 292cu.in. with 2 sp. Fordomatic. I gave that car HELL.
But I can say, it never gave up! The Good ol Days!:D

@ramjo Nissan trucks are already a collectors item...have you priced one lately? Don't go looking for a hard body in decent shape, you'll have a heart attack when you see the prices!

I guess, technically, I've owned 4. I bought a 99 Silverado ex cab from a guy on here and sold it a few months later to a friend of mine.

I think everybody thinks their cars are collectors items these days. Speaking of which, mine is getting some good patina on it, and you know what that stuff goes for these days! You won't find as smooth a clearcoat peel, leaving a sweet red/pink two tone paint scheme. Throw in the Crown Victoria sized dent in the door, the rumble of a mufflerless 4 cylinder and I do think I have the makings of a high dollar gem.

Im pretty sure my dad and brother should have been car sales men though. They do pretty good at buying and selling whatever they drive. Dad did have a nice '63 Impala that he kept for 28 years, quickly replaced with a sweet '64 Corvette though.

And until now, I haven't ran across much anyone else??

Although I did go through a couple dud cars at first, I bought my '76 F100 in 1995. Completely restored it and slowly beat the living hell out of it. Drove it until last year (18 years) when I figured for the price and time of fixing everything that was messed up, I just went ahead and bought my next truck. Pretty much fully restored '79 F100. And I'm trying my BEST not to beat on it although it's hard not to sometimes. I use my '76 when I know I need a beater truck that day although it would require me to write out a custom 30+ page Operators Manual if I ever decided to sell it.

Actually I had no choice but to move on for everybody said they were going to bury me in it when I died. And it's ugly as hell now...

Bought my 75 FJ40 in Jan 1986 for 1000.00. Rebuilt the locked up motor and then put about another 3000.00 into it in 1988 and have just driven it since. No longer a DD but still my wheeler.

And finally thinking about adding PS. That front locker is starting to kick my 4th POC.

No evidently I'm not cheap at all. I have wasted entirely too much money on vehicles and never learn.

In the 6 years I have been driving I have owned; 84' Nissan Pickup, 96' grand Cherokee, 98' grand Cherokee, 96' Dakota, 97' grand Cherokee, 79' wagoner, 02' WRX, 74' dodge dart, 96' Cherokee, 98' ram2500, and now 98' 4runner. Oh and 2 motorcycles and a Mazda. I think the longest period of ownership was with the WRX and that was only a little over a year.
