asheville/hendo/brevard*WNC* ppl !

Yep, that is lake falls. Going UP the first ROCKY trail is where I broke my u-joint. Actually coming back down. Made it up fine, just got bound up coming back down... LAME. Several short trails off of the gravel rd. at lake falls...

I was confused about that as well. Because if you follow the gravel road all the way to the top of lake falls, it intersects with Pinnacle mtn. rd.? So i assumed that the trails at lake falls were what everyone refered to as pinnacle. So I was wrong too...

Lake falls is fun though...
 
Is there still any wheeling near asheville/hendo ?

Everything I knew of has been shut down Anyone got legal access to couch ? Never rode it but walked around in there a few months ago trails everywhere Anyway im in fletcher nc and always looking for people to ride with/new places to go Currently wheeling in a vw railbuggy
 
Wow almost 2 year old thread revival lol. If i'm not mistaken pretty much every trail in the asheville area is shut down but i might have a buddy who has legal acess to couch he knows the owner & I think might have a key
 
The rock climbers go climb up at the rock face off the trail down in lake lure, I heard something of making it officially publicly for climbers (state or town or something with signs and the like), but you'd need a serious rig to get down one of the trails that I walked down.. I have never seen anyone wheeling down there, but there are no signs saying you can't and it's public land as far as I know. But of course, you do have the LLPD, who are, well, small town. 'nuf said there.

If you can get on Couch I know several people, myself included that would be willing to work with the owner(s) to clean the place up/maintain it in exchange for riding there. I live less than a mile from Couch and would do anything to get back in there. :beer:
 
Where is "couch"? I am new to the area and it doesnt even sound familiar. I live in Arden, near Biltmore Park.

I would be willing as well to help do a clean up on some property in exchange fro riding privaleges. I have an M105 trailer on 40's that we can use to fill up with trash to haul off if need be.
 
I'll ask my buddy bout this I too would be down to clean that place it was a shame it got locked up real fun place to go. Shame all the idiots ruined it. The place I used to frequent from high school up until 2007ish got the same treatment got all trashed & got turned into a nursery
 
Couch

Ya I would also gladly donate my time to clean up / mantain trail if we could ride couch on occasion Isnt it multiple land owners to the property though ? How about caney fork out in cullowehee? Can you still ride in there ? Used to be some stuff off of nc 215 in rosman But last time I was up there some of it was getting shut down Also anyone ride in roy taylor national forest ? I found some trails in there one day but cant find the road to access again seems like it was off charley creek rd up near balsam lake rec area at the end of some gravel rd The area I found is not on the 4 wheeler access map for roy taylor trails

I haven't got a definite answer back from my buddy on if he has access or not but we could always try and contact the land owner as a group with a definite clean up/land use plan. See if we could set out some kind of guidelines for use. If its just a free for all like it used to be it will just get trashed again.
 
Do we have anyone trying to talk to land owners or anyone in charge of the efforts to reopen the mountain. I would really like to help and i might know of a few others that know people in higher standings with owners. pm me please
 
I don't even have a rig but I can help get a group together to get it back open Wheelnc62cj if you know some higher up people that can help let me know. Btw I'm pretty sure you went to high school with me & even helped get my POS Cherokee unstuck up there one night.:shaking:
 
possibly so man. My name is Adam, i went to tc if we can plan for a weekend in advance i can come down and help start the movement. Im thinking we need to just go door to door a few places and talk to some folks.
 
Yeah I went to Tc as well. Name is Peter. We need to get a head count of people that are serious about trail clean up. BTW you helped get my Cherokee unstuck up there with Jeff
