thats awesome. is it wired and everything or just for fun.

Hopefully he knows that it's not going to work...but 1, the brake on them sucks and 2, rob has already broken that 3/16" wire just winching down his rearend...

Otherwise, rock on! It'd be good for small logs and such.

I broke one of those cables as well winching on a trailer mounted diesel welder. Winched just fine, but 10mi. down the road, snap!!!

The a-pillar mounted lights say just as much...

I'm saying all they do is glare off the hood at their very best, and will get smashed to bits on the first tight trail, while never illuminating the area directly in front of your tires (thanks to the hood) while driving OFF ROAD, which is the purpose of off-road lights, ain't it?

Besides, the Hella 500 series is a pretty marginal light anyway... personal experience.

Lite Brite

....They only glare off hoods painted PINK.... :p

I saw them going down Western and it looked like a girl driving it. I saw it on campus one day and almost wrecked I was laughing so hard.

I saw that jeep at the Hickory crawdads game about 3 mo ago. I think that was the same night some guy drove a 4runner up the stairs leading to the upper parking lot.....Thank goodness for thirsty thursday

Ill assume that everyone here has a better winch on thier rig... ??

If not you got no business bashing his winch... While ill admin its undersized for serious use, with some care in its use it will most likly pull him from a minor stuck.

Just like the many people bashing the rep8000 and ive watch Blkvoodoo winch countless vehicles up obsticals, out of the ditch in the snow storms etc...

That said, we got my dad a bigger winch than that for his ATV :flipoff2:

Point is, that 5/32" winch line isn't really suitable for pulling large tree limbs...let alone pull any jeep out of anything. Not to mention the two (what look to be g5) bolts that are holding it to the 14ga jeep bumper.

...There's a difference between a cheaply built winch and a grossly undersized one. (and the rep8000 really isn't that bad of a winch).

Believe it or not...

Not everyone uses their Jeep for hardcore off-roading.

GASP !!!!!!!!!

Yes, I know that is a shock.

Some people use them for things like.

Getting wood.
Hauling a boat to and from the lake.
Farm chores.
Camping just off the trail.
Scenic seasonal use roads.
And the list goes on.

Although way underrated for serious vehicle recovery the way most of us CLAIM to use our rigs...

That winch will do a variety of utility chores and with a little sense give a Jeep that little nudge it needs to get off a bad spot when a little bump is all it needs.

A hummer stuck on a stump in front of the outhouse in a parking lot comes to mind here.

Or get itself back on the trailer if it breaks.

While y'all are laughing. Even though my trail rig has an 8274, I have a Warn 2500 on my tow trailer that I ALMOST put on my Mall Crawler. Thinking that on 2 part line it is 5k lbs. Not enough to pull me out of axle deep goo, but more than enough to get me off a parking curb or a patch of ice.

Like Yag already said - I hope everybody who is laughing has a better winch on their rig.
