August 23rd from 9-12:00, We Need YOUR Input!!!

Dozer pushed a path for the track!!!!!!!!

I just finished taking a look at the new 4x4 track path. The Dozer was able to push off a track for us to have people walk on Saturday and give suggestions on obstacles.
Keep in mind, that I am quite a wimp (this is Jackie/Not Johnny) when it comes to 4 wheeling, but there was NO WAY that I was taking an ATV on what they made. I'm not even sure that I will take a horse on it, and that is saying a lot for any of you that know some of the hairy places we ride. Lets just say I drove to the track and walked a bit, then drove a bit more, and walked again........It really impressed me and I hope that it will be something that everyone will appreciate and enjoy.

I hope this goes good,I like the idea of the start and finishline like a motocross course, after running half of the motocross style track, turn into the woods for the trail section and then finish on the track.:driver:
And more than one lap, this keeps people from going balls out and not caring if they have to run again, like what happened at URE.
Here race a lap and then get ready to do another lap.

And lets not forget safety issues.

Not so much for the race course but another event you could have is diesel drags. There's alot of wheelers out there with hopped up diesel tow rigs and would probably love to run them. It would also be something to get some other people competing instead of spectating since their rig may not be built for mud or they don't want to get it that dirty. Possibly something like a small $10 entry fee with 50% payout. Just an idea.

What i did notice when Jon and I rode the proposed course on Sat in the Green ZJ is that it is pretty narrow with some spots that will be very dangerous when someone is competing against the clock. The main part I'm referring to are the zig zags on the far side of the ravine. Jon and I had some close calls while just creeping through there. I would almost say there would need to be some kind of guardrail there to keep rigs from rolling all the way down. Other than that one area and possibly the entire course being a few feet wider it looked like a great plan.

Another possible event could be some hill climbs. I saw alot of steep loose soil hills that would work great. It would also be another way to get more people out there in the meantime until the course is up and going.

Also did I hear some talk of demo derbys?????? <------I'm all for it!!!!!!!!

Roughly when are you guys planning to have the first race, want to make sure my junk is ready. Also class wise, what kind of rules we talkin bout, similiar to the rock race? Thanks and I really appreciate what you guys are doin down there

Thanks for your input. I have not had the nerve to drive over the track yet, or the energy to walk it. I know the spot you are speaking of being dangerous and needing a rail. The track will change once more work is done to it. It was only roughed out by the dozer one evening to help you guys see where we were going to have it. It still needs a lot of work done to it and safety will be kept in mind.
I am not sure of a date yet for the race. We are open to suggestions for sometime next year. We will probably need to run it over the course of 2-3 days.

As far as the Demo-Derby we will be doing it sometime around the end of October or the beginning of November. We will post dates as soon as we know them.
