B2XJ - Low and Fast

Not really XJ shots, but we did put her to use. Back in July I race in Iron Bike 2012. 7 days of mountain bike racing. The XJ made a full (over)loaded 6 hour drive up to the Alps and 7 days of mountain road driving. My wife and son drove it each day from base camp to base camp. The XJ didn't like the climb to 2,200m (10,000ft) but who would. I raced 6 hours, 60km on Sunday, then started the 6 hour drive home. I didn't finish a single day. It was much harder than I expected. Those that did finish biked 670+km, climbed 12,000m, and summited 3,000m multiple times in 7 days. Hopefully my training schedule for 2013 will allow me to finish.

My main bike and my backup bike loaded.

Riding down 4,000 steps in a mountain fortress. 5 steps in and I wiped out. Tried to take a 90 degree turn with very tired arms and folded the front wheel.
