Bad luck? Jeep STOLEN

Yeah, I'm nominating Austin for the NC4x4 WLMOTY award! There are lots of guys on the board that have had stuff happen to them this year but not many of them manage to bring the consistency that Austin does. I will admit that he is pretty good about keeping it to himself though, as not much has rubbed off on me despite the amount of time we have spent together :)

Hard to drive a jeep with a 3" steering wheel!:driver:

I use a bike lock to keep the wheel locked to the roll bar, so I don't have to carry it around.

Thats what I want but I dont think it would work with Jeeps with airbags... And you have to buy the steering wheel too. Overall youll be out $300 bucks or more.

I like the ghetto bike lock idea though. Simple & cheap... Until they cut the steering wheel.

Not sure about airbags, prolly won't work.

Already had the wheel, & the only reason to cut it off the roll bar, would be to ruin it. Even if you got the cap off somehow, you'd still need the key to put the wheel on.

Of course you could just take the wheel with you, it makes for a great conversation starter!

Ask me how I know!:shaking:

Got the bike lock at Homo depot for about twenty bucks. It's the "D" shaped kind.
They were selling it as a ladder lock. Kryptonite IIRC.

I'll try and remember to get a picture of it in the next day or so... for my CJ, I made a bracket that slips over the pedal arms for the brake and clutch, and sticks out over the accelerator. If somebody did manage to start it, they couldn't shift, brake, or give it much gas. A single padlock secures it, and is positioned so you can't get to it with bolt cutters. The shifter also locks to the dash with a chain. That, and an ignition interrupt, I feel somewhat safe.

Sounds interesting. Get a pic up of these pedal locks will ya? I might have to copy that!
