Like the title says, I have been screwed by them twice on shipping. The last time I called them they said my order was going out on the 23rd. I called today and they said it would go out tomorrow or Thursday, I originally told them I had to have the brackets by WEDNESDAY of this week! I have been trying to get a hold of Alex at Carolina Truggies with no luck, I had completely forgotten he is a dealer, can anyone give me an insight on his status?

Thanks in advance, Nic-

Yes both times I have ordered from them I made sure they were in stock, they just keep shipping things later than promised. I have no problems with Ballistic other than that but I do need my parts!

I've called Alex yesterday and today, my issue isn't with him at all. I figured he took some days off from the shop thats why he wasn't answering, I posted this on here in hopes he would see it and maybe he could fix the screw up on their end.

I learned a long long time ago if need something by say Wednesday of next week I better order it at least two weeks earlier.

I also learned don't promise someone something you can't produce. I told them I would order elsewhere or pay the next day shipping if need be at the time of the second call, they said it wouldn't be a problem so I took their word for it. At this time I am not paying extra for anything.

Ballistic is hit or miss every time I order. Sometime parts come in a week, sometimes it will be 3. They suck with communication as well. As was said, I gave up with assuming something will be at my door in less than a week and a half for the entire offroad industry a long time ago.
Barnes 4wd is pretty good though and ruffstuff is by far the best offroad vendor I've used.

I agree I have had the same issues with Ballistic, Dan at Ruff Stuff is by far the quickest shipper and easy to deal with, He once called me on my cell at 8pm one night to let me know my stuff was shipping later than expected due to a machine issue. Then the brackets (Link Mounts) came a week late, Which I was ok with since he called, But they were bent up out of 3/8s instead of 1/4 like stated on the site, He called me before I could call him, Said he shipped them so quick he didn't look close, He offered to refund my money and let me keep them, I told him i didnt want my money back I wanted two more sets out of the 3/8s since they were so beefy, He even hooked me up with a sweet price :huggy:

WARNING: To anyone that wants to order offroad product between now and the end of Feb....Unless you deal with Dan or Chase or Brandon or MUD......More than likely it will not come in on time unless your name is Cambell, Lovell or Carter(jk will). With the KOH race quickly aproaching vendor are taking better care of these guys to get there name out there. I tried order stuff last year about this time and it was like pulling teeth and everyone said the say thing, after the hammers race.

I had a similar problem with Ballistic. Barnes 4wd will get my business from now on. He makes all his own brackets and is only about 20 minutes away from me.

I made a large order with them on the 12th of this month and they have yet to be shipped. The only thing I use them for anymore is there joints. But Im about ready to start using creeper joints or the new qa1's just to get away from them all together. They have a bit of a monopoly on the mass market and they know it. It sucks to have customers waiting on things to be done and you can't do anything about it.

Yeah it is unfortunate because in my opinion their products, brackets, especially are some of the best fitting and designed on the market. I hope Alex has the main stuff I need in stock so I can get this taken care of!

Joints are the only thing to buy from ballistic, any brackets should come from mud, or dan.

Mud Is the best choice IMO, he's local, and hes a little man like the rest of us ( well not really) but he isn't a massive company and you get to talk to the man that will be making your parts.

One of the biggest problem with a lot of vendors, and this is something they will never tell you, is they actually don't keep much stock on hand. BTF has had this issue, and my guess is so is Ballistic. They like to create the illusion of having everything when in reality they really don't. They do enough business that it doesn't kill them to wait a few days to a week for a few more orders before they do a production run.... after all in their mind, they have your money, where else are you gonna go?

Granted I've never done business with Ruff Stuff but from what I've seen, he was smart about it from the get-go and seems to keep a great deal of stock on hand which would explain why he is always on point with shipping from what I've seen and heard.

thats not good to hear about ballistic. i was getting ready to order some parts from them. I've already mentioned the great service and parts from Barnes 4wd, but i'll also say that Dan at ruff stuff had the best customer service i've ever experienced. I ordered a set of his way back shackle hangers for my old YJ project a while back and only like 2 days after my order he personally called me to apoligize that I hadn't recieved them yet. He was out of them and offered to send me the standard shackle hangers in place of them. I told him to just send the parts i ordered when he could and he then gave me a better price on them for my troubles.

on a side note, who else has forged rubber bushing rod ends in 1 1/4" x 12tpi. If its going to take that long to get my parts i'll just order them from someone else.

Does Mud have a website that shows the stuff he makes? I've been hearing good things about him.

So was I. Guess I'll go somewhere else now.

We buy all of our tabs and rockwell stuff from Mud. He is really good guy. If he doesn't have it on his site, he can make it. He's prices are good and he does what he says he going to do. For most of us he is just a day away on shipping.

Agreed, Mudpro or Scott is the best way to go with brackets, Tabs and such, Really great to work with, He wheels so he knows what your talking about. Like stated he will make any thing you can draw and a ton cheaper than you would think, I got my 3 link brackets for 1/4 the cost from Scott. The website is barebones so just call him you wont be disappointed. I draw my stuff in MSpaint and send it to him and he works off of that  So don't think that what you have to show him is not tech enough.

yep, Scott at Mudpro is the best to deal with local. Great prices and quick turnaround. And, he does what he says he will do. Every time I open a box of his parts, I've been more than pleased with what I've received.

Ruff Stuff gets an A+ from me. Fast shipping and great service/prices.

I've had problems with Ballistic and DIY4X was a little slower than I wanted on the shipping.
