That's why we offer a lifetime warranty on the solid nylatron races. I have tried in the past to discontinue the injection molded races, but for the hundreds of customers that they work well for, they feel that it is a disservice. I Highly recommend purchasing the solid billet nylatron races from the start if you own anything heavier than a stock jeep or have questionable link geometry.

I guess I bought mine before Ballistic decided to advertise the fact that the molded injected races are crap. When I got them there was no mention of solid races on the Ballistic web site.

From Jeff @ Ballistic "I have tried in the past to discontinue the injection molded races, but for the hundreds of customers that they work well for, they feel that it is a disservice. I Highly recommend purchasing the solid billet nylatron races from the start if you own anything heavier than a stock jeep or have questionable link geometry. "

The disservice is putting out a high priced joint that won't stand up to anything over a stock Jeep, then charging extra to get what, I'm still not sure is a quality joint.

Johnny Joints are cheaper and I've heard no such issues about them.

I just looked on Ballistic's web site for the first time in a while. They have lost there minds on the joint prices. 1-1/4" shank, 2.63" joint is $51 plus $6 if you want the solid races, plus 5 more $ if you want the joint to come assembled. Wow, $62.
On a side note, Johnny joints and Creeper joint still less than $40, Assembled.
I'm done with my Ballistic rant now.

I replaced the Races in my Joints today, here is the post

The joints were not completely bad, they were full of grease, They were starting to oval and break down. But they could have been tightned again, Although I am not sure how long they would have held up, It seems the solid ones wouldnt have had the same issues, since the others werent that bad.

I was completely expecting them to be trashed the way they were rattling.

I won't bash them...But I have always liked JJ's & RE joints for the highway, but for the greatest misalignment and greatest strength you cannot beat heims for the price.

I looked at many different styles of joint before we came back to heims. By then we were a big enough company to have our own made to the formula I chose. The cryo treating is really what puts ours over the top. If you drive mostly on the road get one of the proven (JJ/RE) joints, if you live on the rocks get heims.
