About that maroon XJ; I talked to him a few minutes beside his rig and it is definitely a work in progress. I can't remember specifics, but he mentioned the lacking front DS and some other critical stuff that was on the way. He's not a poser; he's just not finished yet. Are we ever?

Jason's all talk, that jeeps been a mall crawler for years, I've never seen it dirty. No offense Jason but have you ever taken it anywhere with some real trails?

Thanks for postin those uncc, I know Chris was looking for em. I had my camera, but obviously you can see my face in that first pic spotting, I didn't have time to take any pics lol :) He ended up wasting a tie rod, and his exhaust has a few good kinks in it. We got a tie rod later that day, and a new exhaust is in the works.
I hope it was a Bigdaddy tie rod!!!!!!

The way he beat that thing through there im supprised its only a tie rod... Good show!
Just think he had about the same amount of trouble as that Unlimited Rubi above and its locked F&R w/ 4:1 and 35's.
MAN I LOVE XJ's

I don't remember Mike (driver of the unlimited rubicon) having NEAR as much trouble as the green XJ. I know, mainly because I watched the green XJ, and was spotting for Mike. He never lifted a tire, and did not have to floor the thing to bounce over crap. Yes, the green XJ put on a good show, but driving like that is what leaves people stranded if they happen to break something. He was lucky...

I agree Michael, the rubi went right through, and received my respect all the way through for wheeling it; lots of coin in that thing. Anyone who knows Chris knows he isn't scared of his right foot, but I'm pretty sure that little cartwheel manuver wasn't planned :). We still aren't sure what happened, I said bump it a little, and I got what everyone saw. Either way, he came away alright and made it home, so all is good.

Well right before you told him to bump it he turned to me and said that his leg was spasming, I said what, looked down and saw his leg twitch and we all saw what happened after that. Besides he got the tie rod for cheap because he talked imports with the napa guy, so the world is right again

I was just saying... The Rubi did have to stop, back up, and re-align several times. Not too impressive for a 35K+ rig? That cherokee probably has 7-10k tops including the vehicle and it went though.

Maybe it was just the driver but I was not impressed... But I do give credit for trying that in such a nice vehicle.

ALSO, about the maroon XJ, you can say what you want to say but there is NO excuse for not putting a driveshaft in that thing.. I mean he probably has over 1400.00 in wheels and tires and cannot afford (or run a stock) driveshaft? When I looked under it I didnt see anywhere you could even run one with the way it was built?

you can definetly run a driveshaft the way it is built. his t-case is going up an inch, no need for the drop any more, and he will have plenty of clearance for a 2 inch shaft.

I'd say bo d-shaft because of that shitty front 4 link. If the front end dropped at all, the pinion would point straight down.

we cycled it and it seemed to work fine. did you watch him flex it? the pinion had minimal movement when cylced side to side. i guess if the axle just fell the pinion would drop with the axle, seems like common sense.

granted jason was too cheap to buy any tabs or brackets and insisted on making all his own. that doesnt help the look of the 4-link at all. he says he is going to box the brackets and he hasnt yet. he doesnt use the jeep much, as was stated earlier, it is a pavement pounder.

OK...... MR PERFECT NEVER HAD TO BACK UP, MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE ON THE CURCUIT!

Thanks Michael......................and SPOA87YJ

No need to yell... I was just stating that the XJ went through (open) and the LJ did also. I was just not as impressed as I though I would be w/ the 4:1 and 35's on the LJ. Maybe b/c its a manual right?

Ok, thanks for the info.

I was at the event also. Liked the green xj show on rocks. Liked the mud show too. Just was surprised there wasn't more participation. There was alot of trucks setting around.

Wow, this is still going on.....
Yeah you must have missed it I was out there with my Power Wheels Red wrangler... It wasn't flexing like usual and the batteries were low so I had to put it back on the trailer.
No really, I didnt drive my jeep b/c I was w/ my cousin picking up some 60's for his YJ. HOWEVER, if this is all about calling someone out I will take my XJ out there and run it across the ROCKS. I mean honestly an open XJ ran it. So if I do that will you and the Rubi driver follow me out to Tellico and really wheel your rigs?
I apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings, I was just stating that I was not impressed with how well it performed. Good Lord, im dissapointed with my jeep sometimes. I have just never seen a LWB Rubi in action and I just expected more maybe, I dont know. I probably wouldnt take my jeep through it anyway because I wouldnt want to scratch it or anything like that. Plus I just finished polishing the Moabs and tire wetting the tires.. You cant expect me to wheel it now?
Can we all drop this... We're going out to Uwharrie Sunday, anyone else going to be there? We'll probably start w/ Daniel (hopefully its still wet).
