Bed liners vs plastic dip etc

Here's another newbie question for y'all. For painting sections of, or possibly eventually all of, my rig do you recommend a specific brand of bed liner or plasti dip type of covering?

What experiences do yall have with each? Or with specific brands, ie monstaliner, raptor, rhino, etc.

Right now I am just looking at doing my hood and interior (gutting interior panels such as headliner and all carpet). In the future will probably also do the roof, it's pretty faded. I like the idea of a bright color but unless I have the $ ( and I don't ) to really do a lot of work to my trooper I think the neon green I want would just look stupid. I think bed liner for sure for inside floor, so why not for all of it? But don't want a really rough finish if you know what I mean.

I did some plasti dip on my old f350 and while I think it looked unique I could see it scratching right off.

Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for something you can apply yourself at home? If not I've had line-x on my trucks rockers for probably 4-5 years now and it has held up great to the rocks that chipped all the factory paint away.

Yes I would like to apply it myself, probably just go with something like rhino liner. It holds up pretty good in the gator beds at work. Maybe see what that Monstaliner costs.

I used Durabak on the bronco.

It was rusted over all the fenders, door sill, lower quarters. And I didn't want a standard "line"

Plus..I was tired of all the OJ jokes, so I made it SO anti O.J. no one ever made that comparison again. It held up GREAT....even took the bark off of trees it rubbed on the trail

I also used Durabak on my old YJ inside and outside, only thing I didn't like was It was rough like 80 grit and would tear the old lady's legs up getting in/out :)

I painted my jeep with raptor liner. You can get it in black or tint able and mix with any color. It is very easy to do your self at home. And can get a kit with a gun for around $130.00.

I wonder if bedliner will lessen road noise? I took the carpet etc out of the back of my Trooper today and it is LOUD!
