So I have a truck set up with a 8" of lift and plan to run 44's and trimming the fenders. Next step is planning phase on how to get up in it. So what's the consensus on the best way to get in and not be dragging anchors around along the sides besides having a reachable step ladder in the bed? I've seen chains welded into steps with the top few links open so it still swings about but they look unstable although I have no personal experience? And now while looking at the new Jeep magazine I see steps that you simply reach down and pull a spring pin out and fold them up but for $119, the price is way past "self-fabbing". I'm looking for ideas for a 78/79 era F250 and the frame is several inches tucked underneath...

Any ideas?

I watched Diesel Brothers on Disco last night hoping they'd show how they got up IN that big sumbeach they drive around, but never did

Small frame extension out to the rocker area, then a swingaway or folding step attached to that?

Well I guess rock sliders out of 2"x 0.25" for sure as the first step so the actual frame tucked underneath is not the issue (unless there's a better way such as a pull out step maybe). Just wondering what was the latest after that. Seems with all the heads together that this would be a common issue that has long been decided. I didn't know what words to even search this???

Is this going to be the next installment of the "paint your way across the canyon"?

" paint yourself into the big dumb mudtruck"?

Little plastic step stool with a rope.

Welp, after many googles later. I think this is a simple and efficient as it will ever get...

Saw where one guy installed hydraulic cylinders into his roll cage hooked to his sliders. If you got deep pockets I guess??? I think I'll just stick with the plastic stool and move on.

My work truck and others like it use a cables... Kind of like equipment steps. Something that will bend and not damage. Other than that, I'd go with something off a slider like you mentioned...sorry about the boyfriends pelvis thrust thing... Awkward I know

do something similar to the ford truck bed step, but that hides into the rocker/slider instead.

In the past I built a slider that stuck out from the body a few inches and ran from front tire to back. I would open the door, climb up the tire, and walk down the slider to the door opening. Just jump out.

The best way to get into either my dump truck or the dually is by climbing the tire. Awesome point. Think you just nailed it...

mount a sturdy grab bar to the cab near the door handle along w the sliders then it should be easy to pull/step up and into the seat.

I watched a chic a few years ago get in a mallcrawler that the bottom of the door was nipple high on her.
She literally had a 3 ft. aluminum step ladder in the back of the truck ...... SMH ....

How I use to do it before my truck came down over a foot:
1. Put one foot on tire
2. Grab "ol shit" handle
3. Pull your ass in
:D
