Biggest douche-mobile

I have never seen one in a store, but I am assuming when you purchase those stupid long drop ball mounts that they come with a warning that your towing capacity is reduced? If you lift your truck in the sky, it is not really appropriate for towing properly anymore. Don't they get that? That is a LOT of leverage on that receiver.

I run a 12" drop that I recently bought for towing my 5x10 with two quads on it. Maybe 2500# gross trailer weight. I would never pull a car trailer or enclosed loaded down with it. Although the ball mount is rated for 10k # I don't imagine my receiver would like it.

And no there was no sticker on there to warn idiots of the obvious effects it would have on the receiver.

yep I have a 10" I have put on my 4runner just for pulling around a small yard waster trailer. No warnings at all.
Never been a concern for me b/c the 4 cyl of fury will run out of HP before I could load up too much tongue weight...

local Locust NC douchebag sighting at lunch...

lol not me but i guess i am guilty still trying to figure out how yall fit a crew cab long bed towing a 24ft trailer in a single parking spot.
You don't - it's all about the location.
You do that in the very back of the lot where you're not blocking spaces people use

Back when I worked in a dealership. We had a guy come in with a duramax that was lifted maybe 8" with a drop hitch. They guy had a heavy foot. He was pulling a skid steer and ripped the receiver hitch off the frame. He wanted the warranty to cover it. So they did. Few days later..he ripped it off again. He was so pissed they wouldn't cover it again. If I remember it broke the bolts and a mounting bracket. I couldn't imagine that feeling and noise when it broke.

You cant fix stupid.

To be sure that problem could be resolved w 2 braces from the bottom of the drop hitch to the frame? Maybe w a quick release pin/bracket so you could still go offroad after removing it. Might be a market for the reinforced drop hitch ?
