Biggest Waste of Money?

I was at a place today and a salesperson tried to talk me into a $500 pair of custom fit jeans. I still have trouble wrapping my head around this for so many reasons and it got me to wondering what other incredible wastes of money people have come across. I don't mean our government or hobbies.

One of biggest individual wastes of money I have ever personally witnessed was at the roulette table. A guy walks up to the table cold and puts $300 down on every space except two of them. Then, you guessed it, the spin landed right on one of the two numbers he didn’t cover. Dude didn’t say a word or show any emotion whatsoever and just walked away.

Was in Vegas in Janurary and watched a dude drop $1000 on the craps table, lost it in minutes, threw down another $1000 and started loosing that too. He was pulling out more money as I walked away feeling sick.

I had recently lost $10 on a slot machine for my first time gambling and thought to myself “this is boring, I could have bought another drink or a burrito with that” which I immediately left and found said burrito accompanied by a taco & a Mountain Dew for $6.

@TARider i gotta know where the heck you were at and why, that had $500 jeans.

I hunt with an old college buddy out west in Colorado. Usually after the hunt is over I’ll hang around a few days and see the sites. One year I visited Telluride. This place is where celebrities have their winter vacations and the stores are representative of this. Brands I’ve never heard of with 4 digit price tags on ski boots, jackets, and mountain bikes. Let’s just say my Carhartt and Duluth made me look like the hired help.

1) when it comes to jeans...I buy the $25 variety from BassPro

FYI - on black Friday they mark their Red Head jeans down to $10 before 11am.

Bourbon, I’m not a drunk or anything but the high end stuff from wild turkey and woodford reserve gets to me.

Once I started seeing folks pay 300 or more for billet grab handles to go in JKs, I'm not surprised by much of anything people blow money on anymore.

Big formal weddings. Best to save that $$$ for the divorce.
Have a cousin that got married in the 80's, her dad was a big wig on wall street. Had a huge wedding at St Patrick's cathedral in NY, multi story yacht for the reception cruising around the harbor. The money for that wedding was more than my first house. They gave her the option of cash instead. I'm guessing now that she's single she wishes she'd have taken the cash.
