Referring to...did you lay it out on the computer before you took to bending...or'd you sketch and on the back of a denny's napkin at 3am and get to bending.

alittle of both...

i started to build a cab truck but it was getting TALL/HEAVY:

so i moved on... in my free time at work i started laying it out in CAD:

this has varied some with the real thing, but its close.

I figured you worked it up in cad or solidworks. I was pretty sure you had experience with that stuff at work, thats why I was asking. I've been trying to mock up what Jim plans to build in solidworks while I wait for the TJ to sell.

maybe it's just me...but I probably would attach the top end of the front shocks to something rigid for a little better control...


BTW...I think those 12-sided tires will work a lot better than your Krawlers!!

i got that far and wasn't sure how high the motor was going to sit, so the front end was "trial and error" with no big errors yet

as for the tires.. thats a hush-hush thing for now...

I don't use none them new fangeled computors for firguring up chassises. I just has me a vision.

I know...I'm trying to convert your vision into something I can see
course I've come to realize it harder to fawkin draw it than it is to bend it...and so far I'm only guessing at measurements just to model something while I learn the program.

Nothing I've drawn on a napkin every came to life the way I planned anyways.

got the steering column/MC/brake pedal mounted, a mock-up dash for now:

finished the day with some gussets, and sitting in it making motor noises next up is the floorboard/firewall and more small stuff...
