Just bought a tour and having second thoughts about the storm2 with wifi and such. Any input on this? Anyone here have either phone? It seems like the storm and the curve have a lot more apps and gadgets than the tour...like bar code scanning for BB chat and fun apps...Shed me some light! I have 25 more days to switch out!

I have been doing my research on the new phones as well... Right now I have a curve, but the speaker is blown. I went in and played with the phones and i really like the Storm 2.

All the new blackberry phones have the bar-code scan for the messenger. I have it on my curve now...

They did their homework when they remade the storm two... here is a link to a great review..

Hope this helps!

u can also download the blackberry messanger from app world it dosent say that its an update but when u download it it updates it did my the other day and man i love the new app

I don't really know man that is what I am trying to find out

What happend to the Boulder? Why can't a phone just be a phone.

Before I even begin, I'm a traditionalist BB user. I switched to the Storm, reluctantly moving away from a real keyboard. I LOVE the screen! However, the keyboard (no matter how you set it up) and the pausing/locking, especially during low signal is atrocious! I really miss the real keyboard, but LOVE that I no longer have the thumbwheel, nor a pearl type "joystick"...

The camera/vid rocks. The screen rocks. Apps are decent. keyboard SUCKS!

*wondering if anyone can tell what my least favorite part is about the Storm/2* hehehe.

My .02... nothing more.

Yeah I know the storm sucks but I am wondering how much better the storm 2 is...I have BB chat on my tour now but I dont have the bar code scan and a good bit of other things it seems

Brandon...how is the keyboard on your storm 2? is it fast and trouble free?

I've got a tour, the trackball sucks, and is a known issue..

WTF is this bar code scan business? Why would you need that?

its just that man...you can pull up your phones bar code and I could take a pic of it and it would load you into my BB chat and such without entering a pin or anything...I have already had a issue witht the track ball not rolling up and i have only had it for about a week. Just wondering if the storm2 is going to be any better since the storm was junk

chad, FWIW, I really like this HTC Ozone so far. Works well with the internet and my email. I like the keyboard and could care less about the touch screen. I would either hold off until verizon gets the iPhone (beginning next year), or check out the HTC (windows based phones). I have compared to friends' BB's down here and I dont feel like I am missing out on anything. The iphone has more fun stuff like games and all, but for basic smart phone functions I am pleased with this phone. Here is an example of how it came in useful the other day: I was in a class w/o access to a computer, but it had a printer. I had to turn in a lab report and forgot to do a cover page. I had it saved to my school account. So I pulled it up on my phone using the Microsoft Word on my phone, made a quick and dirty title page, then sent it to the printer in the room through the school's network. All w/o leaving my seat...that was pretty cool to me.

yea it's pretty cool eh....Accessed the computers network via smart phone and used the printer. I've taken cisco classes at caldwell but they suck ass.....I'm going to take more networking classes at CVCC

...I mean its not amazing or anything, but cool to me. it dosent take much to impress me when it comes to this techno crap.

Justin, verizon is not getting the iphone. AT&T just renewed until 2017 and both my Cousin and garren went through 3 of HTCs before buying blackberrys. They both said they never got a good HTC...I like the tour I have...just dont want to miss out on something not going with the storm 2 as far as apps and such. And I still dont know how to get the bar code thing

What JayT said. And, Verizon does NOT support the wireless function or using it as a modem for your laptop.

the storm to was supposed to get the most of its upgrades to the keys, touch, and speed

The only thing that holds me back from the Tour is the roller ball. I've had a curve for the last year or so and think its a really good phone. It takes 30 seconds to pop the roller ball out, clean it and put it back in....which happens about twice a month due to the metal in the shop. The whole face plate on the Tour would have to come off and would be a major pain. My gf has it though and loves it, no issues what so ever.
As for the BB messenger I really don't know what the scan deal is, or if I even understand what you're talking about. I just use the phone's pin number and go from there, very simple.
Maybe Brandon will chime in again on his Storm and quit pretending that he's working....

instead of having to type in that awful complicated PIN, you just take a picture of the barcode, and it "knows" the PIN for you.
Sooo much easier.
bwahahahahahahaha. I mean, I know I can argue to get a picture of a barcode easier than typing 5 digits. Then again, now that they don't have a keyboard, maybe it would be easier.

Are you set on a BB? Buddy of mine who works for Verizon had a droid a little while back for a demo. Once learned it blew the Iphone out the water. I personally have the storm right now and it's not the first one I've had. Mine would cut off at times lag or just lock up and sometimes wouldn't respond or or would do something differnt than what I wanted. It also seemed if I went out on humid days it sucked vs being inside in the cool or a house or building. It's not the first one I've had do it either. Needless to say I told Verizon next time I came back I would be leaving with something other than the storm bc all they do is give me a new one each time. Other than that the storm was just like the Iphone. Once I got it to work it worked great The good thing about BB messenger is my bill doesn't show how many text I sent and recieved vs normal texting so I don't feel like such a text whore each month when I see my bill.
