The problem is packaging, to get the required CFM without robbing power would require two 8-10" diameter canisters. One issue I have with UMP & PRC is they don't list CFM specs (I highly doubt they've done the testing). I absolutely love Donaldson systems but here again they are large to get the required CFM, was just looking at their specs a few min ago LOL. As always, I'm over thinking shit.....
Engine wrapped up and ready to be wired. Not sure if I want to route the wiring under the intake for a clean look or along side of valve covers, TBD later. Trans shipped yesterday and should be here mid week so hopefully I'll be ready to drop everything back in the in buggy next weekend.
Going to start on making the new headers today and see how far I get.....
Maybe it's just me but when you buy premium parts from a reputable company I expect a certain amount of quality. I wanted to run larger primaries and not make it too tight for easy access to the header bolts. The Ford Z2 heads use the OEM 2" bolt pattern which makes big tubes tight around the bolts. So I choose SSW OEM to TFS 2-3/4" adapters and Looks 1-7/8" flanges. I had to spend ~4 hours grinding, drilling, and deburring to get them to fit. Both companies took them straight off the laser table and boxed them up
Anyway, got the adapters and flanges bolted up. Mocked up the collectors with the existing mufflers and turn outs. Cut down the collectors and mufflers a bit and tacked on new V-band flanges. Collectors and mufflers set where the need to go. Now the fun part of making tubes.....after lunch and a Sunday afternoon nap
