Bourbon

Stocked up…New Riff, Pure Kentucky and Black Saddle are all top tier daily drinkers for anyone interested…my cabinet will always have an open bottle and one ready to be opened. I like each of those that much. The rest, saw and never had so giving it a try. Coolemee ABC had the orange soda jerk, been wanting to try that for a while.

I heard from friend that a abc store in cary was getting some Eagle Rare yesterday. I was off work and went to the store he said that it. Got there and asked about and the EG and the staff said didnt have it and the asked like assholes. So went to another store, 5 mins from the first and they said did'nt EG and they asked like assholes too! I thinking they held the bottles for them and friends .

So I bought this on sale

Yeah…just popped open the Two Bish Single Barrel…flavor profile is there…but needs another 2 years minimum.

Black saddle…is my change of pace from New Riff, Clyde and Pure Kentucky. I typically buy those by the case, black saddle is by the bottle.
 
Just dropped $150 on a bottle.

Went back home for FIL 70th.
Kinda surreal wife/daughter are on a cruise and out of country. FIL and I have and a strained relationship forever - but he’s a good man.

On way in I went by my old go to store and grabbed a couple bottles

In Greenwood at a jobsite.

Leave and stop for fuel - liquor store shares parking lot with gas station.

‘Check out our bourbon selection’ the sign says.

Look around not much to speak of, ask the cute red head behind the counter - saw the ‘check out the bourbon selection’ sign, y’all have any special bottles that aren’t out?


We have this real fancy bottle in the back but it’s like $150….no one is gonna pay.


Can I see what it is?

Saw this in the store and thought I’d give it a try. Much harsher that the regular 101 imho.

That is the new/old 101 with the 8 year age statement.
Should mellow in the barrel.... havent had it yet - but the 8 year Jimmy Russel 70th from last year was smooth as butter

At the same place I got that Unicorn…snagged these two bottles too. Never had them. The Lucky 7 is pretty damn good though and only a $60 bottle. They had quad oak Lucky 7, not a huge fan of too much oak, and they had a French finish as well…usually not a fan there either…and both those bottles were double the price of ‘the workhorse’.
