**Cadillac 500 Swap Into a 1963 International C1300 4x4**

Next week my updates won't be as frequent as I have the Charlotte Auto Fair to prepare for. For those going, if you see me or my truck stop by and say hi.
The IH will be there? My father in law will be drooling over it, he's itchin to get his 56 IH S-100 back on the road.

Ron,
Make sure you come by the IH lot outside the main gate with that rig. I know many guys in SEBA will love to see that thing. I'll be there in my trail rig Terra on Saturday. See Ya and awesome truck, man! I love the C-series trucks:driver:

I will definately stop by. I'm selling inside but everything will be in my truck so I can roll at any time.

Sad thing is, it looks way better in the pics. I hope to not disappoint.

See you then.

Well get your ass up here and check it out!!!

Quick update.

My plans are to begin the swap next week. I have everything I need to make it a smooth process.

I'll take pics.

You never know.

I got a late start today but still acomplished a good bit. I built the trans crossmember, installed the new conversion joint and re-installed driveshaft, prepped to install the radiator and converted a generator to an alternator in my '61 Ford Econoline van driver.

Tomorrow is radiator, trans cooler, condensor, bolting in the motor mounts, starter and whatever I feel froggy about.

Stay tuned.

Update for those interested.

Today I installed the carb, modified the throttle rod, ran the exhaust, struggled with finish bolting the motor mounts to the frame.

We'll see how tomorrow goes. Hoping to be running on Friday.

nice build!.... please do me a favor and get a HEI distributor or something and kill the points distributor.

I'm not big on the looks of the HEI cap but appreciate the performance. My plans are to replace the points with a Pertronix.

All of my old cars run points. I had Pertronix in the 6cyl that I just replaced. It ran fine but I didn't notice a difference over the points.

On my '51 Plymouth I put over 35,000 miles on the points that I put in a years ago and I really didn't need to replace them.

If set up properly they should give reliable performance.

All of that being said, I want to get out what power I can from the Cadillac so I will try the Pertronix again.

Thanks man.

Today was pretty productive. I fabricated the mounts for the 3 row radiator and installed it. Also modified the alternator mount and completed that. Finished the exhaust. Installed the trans cooler.

I only have a few more things to do before I fire it up.

Thanks for following along.

Pics tomorrow.

Well. I didn't fire it today. I installed the trans shifter, ran the trans lines, mounted the coil to the firewall, strapped down wires and cables, rebuilt carb and kickdown switch, ran a new oil pressure line, ran the fuel hard line to the carb from the pump, filled the block with oil and prelubed it, changed the trans filter and gasket, filled the trans and rebuilt the distributor.

What's left to do;

>run the spark plug wires
>run the upper radiator hose
>tie in heater hose to rad hose
>fabricate air shields for the front of the radiator
>intsall my newly louvered hood
>reinstall the grill

I am so stoked!!

I had a friend louver a different one for me. I need to do a quick paint job on it before I install it.
