Cage gussets Q

Installing cage into my early bronco. It’ll see trails and street. Clean but not restored…. anyway…

Cage has 3 hoops at A,B and C positions. Spreader bars connecting each.

Should I gusset inside and outside of the outermost spreader bars or is the inside good enough?

Installing rear spreaders this weekend and want to button it up completely if I can.

Both sides is certainly better, but one side is tremendously better than none.

I made a tool for making taco gussets in my press brake. Always thought that was a good way to gusset because it’s low profile and strengthens the weld and adds a lot of strength due to multiple planes now being in play.

I like the look of both the tube gussets and the tacos (mmmmm, tacos!)

I have some drops around that would work for tube gussets…. I don’t have an easy way to make the tacos so may test fit a tube gusset. If it fits well, I’ll likely go that way and remove the 4 triangles I installed. (My welder started acting funky on on #3 and 4 so had to grind on them anyway.)
