I have a 2006 black Toyota Avalon. The paint is faded and extremely dull. What process should I do to get it shine up and bead up like it should. Clear coat is still there except one spot.

Turtle wax has a black wax, I think the original maker was called "color magic".

You can buy it at walmart or most autoparts stores. The stuff is the bomb, and you are lucky, it is readily available, but only in black.

Use a random orbital polisher and you can make a black car look like a million dollars....until it moves, or the wind blows, or a drop of rain lands on it, or dust lands on it.....damn I hate black cars!

My 2500 had swirl marks on it really bad when I bought it. I used TW black and it turned out great!

Polish the shit out of it. Wash it, clay bar it, polish it, then wax it.

You see all this shit?

MY father in law is obsessed with that stuff! Like the bottle says, he puts it on every damn thing.

I started using this stuff from Griots. It puts old school wax to shame, even their own products.
I assume it is something similar to the F11 stuff.
I am slack and have only put one coat on and it is still awesome.
Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax - Griot's Garage

I cut and buffed our 2015 accord then put this stuff on it and it almost doesn't get dirty anymore...

I also use their leather stuff, smells like a saddle shop. it's awesome.

I had a black jetta and the clear was old and thin. After a cut and buff, wasn't much left on the horizontal areas. Hopefully this won't be your issue.

if you just want it to look decent without much cost or effort, the black wax does a great job, and it doesn't leave any perfectly filled white lines in your old, scratched up black car....like regular waxes do.

I use the griots 3 step system.

3 pads with a matching compound/wax/polish for each pad.

Use them on a harbor freight polisher.

Works wonders. May need to use a clay bar first if you have a lot of trash on the surface.

I even used the griots system to buff my epoxy bathroom countertop.

I used the turtle wax black wax stuff mentioned above on my avalanche with great results also. I didn’t have the griots pads/wax stuff back then

Did you specifically cover the F11 bottle with the grey cloth so it wouldn't be included in the visual for "All useless now"

That is the shit! It is uber expensive, but damn....it flat out works and a little goes a long way!

wait, we're supposed to WASH these things?
Nah, buy or borrow a cat. Let the wife fall in love.
Never have to worry about a cars finish again.

.22 lr would work great, but divorce isn't an option over shinny cars.

I gave up. Unless it has mold or feels like 60 grit it's all good.
