We are building a cover for the travel trailer. It will be 14x30 . I already am using the metal gable trusses.
The question is we have a gravel drive now and do not plan to change that . I am torn between having a slab done VS putting the 6x6's into the ground. I am also thinking of using sonotubes with a post bracket to avoid having to dig down two + feet. So what do you think and why? Concrete would be subbed out ans well as gravel delivery.

Slab with dryset post brackets $$$$

sonotube with wetset brackets and gravel $$$?

Dig dig dig and gravel and broken back $$$

Slab may cost more but that's probably the way I'd lean. Unless it was just going to cost you a ungodly amount of cash.

14x30 is only about 6yards of concrete, witch would be around $700 or so. I think it will be worth it! Plus if you ever sell the trailer, then your that much closer to a shop...

Hey sometimes it's nice to work outside in the shade.

Also concrete slab, relatively cheap and quick to do

The first quote was 1300 we will see how the rest are. I am going to have more in the carport than the camper.

Why do you think you won't have to dig with a sonotube? They still need to be down in the ground?
Otherwise that carport will sail away with the first strong breeze.

Right you can't just sat a sonotube on grade pour concrete in it and call it done. He said he could use a tube and avoid digging down. I was just questioning his logic for saying that

it is no older than 10 years . built by the previous owner, who also could make some epic skate ramps. I wish the bank has left this here.
