On a diesel, how do I charge both batteries?

Obviously I can disconnect each one and charge individually. But is it possible to leave both connected and just connect charger to one battery and it charge both?

Nah.

Bought a truck last summer that I haven’t driven in a couple months. Figured I should charge the batteries.

I don't recommend doing them independent either......almost impossible to balance and keep them happy with one another.

Also replace both. You'll only shorten the life span of the system by band aiding. Suck when one shorts a plate.....but usually a root cause got it that far gone.

I have a battery maintainer that said in the paperwork not to put it on more than one battery, that it cannot regulate itself if you do. My regular charger is a marine model made for multiples and I use that most of the time.

I bet the trickle charger says that because it only puts out enough to keep one battery maintained.
